When on holiday, I try to focus on the positives. This time, the only positive I have, is that there are very few, if any, positives. Arrived late at night, and it was a bit of a treasure hunt to find the unmanned reception desk with my room key there. Room is quite of a good size, though having booked a single, was surprised to find three beds. The toilet/shower is enclosed with a rather temporary-looking partition which does not even extend to the ceiling. Luckily, I'm the kind of person who uses the hotel only for a quick sleep before venturing outside again, so I'm not really bothered with fancy stuff. But some basics, I usually expect. Such as shower gel. The dispenser in the shower was empty, and there wasn't any personnel to report it to at the times I departed or returned to the premises. I thought nothing of it, hoping it would be replenished as part of the housekeeping procedure, but no, this was too much of a bother. I just bought myself a bottle of shower gel from a supermarket. Breakfast was again unmanned, with bread, ham and cheese slices. I didn't bother on a number of days while I was there, especially when on one day, it seemed that a colony of ants was enjoying the breakfast spread far more than the hotel's guests were. And this is where things really went downhill. I returned in the afternoon, to find that housekeeping had even forgotten to do my bed. So I called on the emergency number placed on the reception desk. A few minutes later, the owner arrived, and when I expressed my disappointment, rather than an expected apology, I was told that there were two other beds in my room I could sleep in, and that he would give the housekeeper a good telling off. As for the missing shower gel, I was directed towards the hand soap on the sink, where he stated that it was perfectly acceptable to use this to wash with instead. He also said I should be grateful to have a fridge in my room and that the airconditioner was brand new... When I returned to the hotel later in the evening, the bed was made, but I was visited by the housekeeper, who suggested that if I didn't like the place, then I should stay somewhere else. Like I needed her suggestion to consider it. At this point, I cut my holiday short and booked an earlier flight, leaving the next morning.

Very poorly run room was very un unclean sharp metal in shower cockroaches in room. around the pool broken sun-bed and mouldy furniture left after one day. try to explain it to the owner and he was horrible No understanding or apology. Last words were. I’ll make more money from your room . Didn’t have the decency to even come back and bring out the paperwork.

Worst experience ever there are so many cockroaches it's very dirty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Toilet is not workin.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The owner is very rude he said its my problem I paid for it so I can go if I want but don't get any cent back

On arrival there was no receptionist which was really strange, there was a paper with our names and keys. I stayed there for 3 nights with my friends, the goal was to find a cheap but good place to sleep and we were completely satisfied. In the price we had breakfast, the breakfast was not bad but it was really cheap. The food was never enough so we had to wait long every morning. This place is older with interesting furniture, not far from the city centre and there are shops nearby. Our rooms were completely clean, there was cleaning every day, they took out the trash from the room so that was a good point. The room was equipped with plates and cutlery, hair dryer and next to the room there was a small kitchen with a small oven which we used a few times. It was quite cold when we stayed there, it would have been nice if it could have been heated with the air conditioner. On our last day the lady from the breakfast offered us a dessert as it was our last day, this was really sweet from her. We really enjoyed our stay in Whitestar, Malta is amazing and I am sure that I will come back in the future!

Horror!! Kids slipped multiple times as water flows in from the bathroom to bedroom. They gave us a maids room. The owner was rude and never available and that “Internet” didn’t even come on phone. Let’s not even get into hygiene and cleanliness. I paid non refundable rates as this is how they know how to secure money because guests would hate once they are there. Shame!!

Don't stay here. The place is filthy, and it's like a hostel for down and outs. Ashtrays full of cigarette butts damp bathrooms, rickety furniture and unhygienic. TV didn't work. And not even cheap!
