Naxos Summerland Resort

Summerland, in the village of Kastraki, offers us a wonderful apartment. Even though I need help (I have a very poor mobility), everything works out here! We really get all the help. The service is, in general, on all fronts, very high. The breakfast is perfect, and we dine here every day to our complete satisfaction. Summerland as a complex is wonderfully spacious. The area is rural, quiet and very close to the beautiful beaches. In short, we will gladly come back next spring!

Check in was fine and we were told we had been "upgraded" to an apartment. The room was tired, broken ceiling fan and tiny cramped shower with restricted flow and limited hot water. No basics such as tea, coffee or bottled water. We had been told by manager not to drink the water due to supply on the island being low and heavily calcified. Upon us and friends raising various concerns the manner changed to aggressive, threatening and blaming everyone else including ourselves for the problems. Apparently I did not know how to turn the hot water tap on properly In trying to show me how the hot water worked he turned the tap on full for at least 5 minutes, and hey presto - only lukewarm. Apparently the governments fault for not letting him use the booster. This is a tired worn out hotel with a manager that I believe would put Basil Fawlty to shame. Location is very isolated. You are better to stay in Naxos Port where we relocated to after 2 night

As we pulled in we were pleased that we were to spend a week here adorned with trees tiki style umbrellas pools a wonderful hot tub and more. Our rooms had many accommodations: we loved the privacy immaculate and a/c. And our most favorite the daily breakfast with a daily new menu item and so many choices drinks food … The owners were accommodating with all our questions giving us wonderful recommendations. The staff were kind and very accommodating as well. Thank you Summerland for a treasured memory 🩵🤍🩵💙💙💙

We had an excellent stay in this lovely little resort in Kastraki. Both manager and staff were very welcoming; it was easy and quick check in. Very nice triple room with comfortable beds. And a very nice terrace. Nice and clean bathroom with a very good shower. Swimming pools (two for adults and oen for children) and one jacuzzi available next to bar area. Nice sand beach nearby with a couple of wooden umbrellas. Very good buffet breakfast with eggs, sausages, pancakes, cheese, tomato, cucumber, etc. Great value for money, definitely recommended.

After our first introduction to this brilliant complex in autumn 2022, we travelled again to Summerland in Kastraki (Naxos Island) for 10 days this year. You would almost think that it could only come across less well, but nothing could be further from the truth. Once again, we have a unique stay at Summerland. We are a little earlier in the year than last year, but the extreme tranquillity still exists here, while it is noticeably busy in and around the capital, but also at other tourist places (Chalkio, Filoti, Apeirantos), much busier than before the corona time (we have been coming to the island every year for more than 25 years, and always roughly in the same period.) The booking is personal, very efficient and clear. And we see the result when we arrive: we are welcomed with open arms, our beautiful apartment is ready and again we can park the car in an alternative location: I have exceptional mobility problems. And then the experience of our stay: The location of Summerland is perfect and unique if you want to explore the island. But going to Chora, the capital, is no problem at all. Kastraki has extreme, spacious, quiet, clean beaches and here and there (excellent) shops and catering establishments. But we prefer the options at Summerland. The breakfast is richly supplied with delicacies and is always well replenished. We also enjoy dinner in the beautiful outdoor restaurant, where breakfast is also served and you can use the bar facilities. The complex is spacious and that greatly benefits the relaxing experience. There are two swimming pools: more than enough space for guests. And don't forget: the beach is just a few minutes' walk away! We'll look a little further. Our apartment (no. 3) is on the ground floor (this is essential because of my walking problems). Wonderfully spacious. Comfortable. Equipped with everything you need. Nicely decorated, with air conditioning (we open the windows, you don't hear anything outside), nice spacious bathroom, and, essential for us, perfect internet. But best of all: the incredibly friendly, open, personal, constructive, helpful and last but not least humorous contacts with Jannis, Maria and Zefi: super sweet people. If our health allows it, they may welcome us here again next year. We're looking forward to it while we're still here! We are already working on the (first, tentative) plans! Second visit to Naxos, went as a group and my goodness what a let down. Started with a lecture on what we could and couldn’t do! (Never had this before) Room was ok a bit outdated but fair. First night in the restaurant surrounded by cockroaches. To be fair the exterminators were called in the next day. The owner was very aggressive (as previous reviews have stated) as some of our group used an inflatable in the pool. He told them there had been an incident where he had ended up going to prison and he didn’t want to go back!!!! We found him very passive aggressive and he watched our every move!! Breakfast again was ok but bland. The staff were miserable other then a cleaning lady who smiled every time. On a positive note two fabulous restaurants at the end of the road who were friendly and welcoming. There is a bus that drops off near the hotel but only about four a day! Stay nearer to Naxos town unless you have a car and don’t have children! (I think this would be better as an adults only hotel) Hotel Grotta is amazing, very friendly and near the port. I await his aggressive feedback!
