Exactly what I wanted. Clean, tidy, quiet. Professional friendly staff, including cleaners. Very reasonably priced. I paid for an individual room but was given a double room for the same price which was greatly appreciated. I stayed at the hotel, not the Palace. Having to leave early most days I did not have breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot review that side.

Attractive hotel. We were in the new section, which was comfortable. Good central position for the small town. Visiting in Oct as a stopover across Northern Spain, we did find most things closed, despite decent weather.

Since we began our Camino Norte journey in Bilbao, this has been our nicest hotel experience. Clean, comfortable rooms, super desayuno spread, and the kindest staff. Shoutout to Josef at the front desk for his patient and kind help to both Camino hikers and cyclists alike. The laundromat is only 10 minutes away, with a grocery directly across the street. Muy bueno!

Reviewing this hotel is problematic since there is a variety of accommodation so my experience may not reflect yours. There’s an older building surrounded by a garden that has a lot of little used public space that might have been the core of a stay decades ago ( billiards room, parlor and an oratorio that looks just right for holding a seance! ) But there’s a newer building and possibly a third with apartments. I was in the older building on the top floor where some of the ceiling slants reflecting the slope of the roof. An odd shape but for me the room was great, large and actually had a small sitting area with a view of the river. One downside for some may be lack of A/C but you can open the window with little street noise until the garbage people come early AM. There’s a supermarket across the street, bus station one block away, train is maybe a 12 minute walk but you’re a couple km. from the beach and the path to Frejulfe. Room was great and was clean and with enough modern things like WIFi and outlets. If you want even newer, ask about the new building.
