An incredible and peaceful location that allows you to completely switch off. The hosts are welcoming, kind and generous and truly go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. I cannot wait to return to enjoy the Cotsworld charm and hospitality. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

We arrived to the small of freshly baked scones and left with a cheery wave from the owners. After a wonderfully quiet night, we drew the curtains and drank in the view over the immaculate garden towards the totally unspoilt countryside. After a delicious breakfast, the owners leant us a map and suggested the perfect itinerary which allowed us to do a bit of antique shopping, visit another beautiful garden and enjoy a cracking lunch at a local pub. We got the last available room but everything was spotless and very comfortable and our en suite had a huge and luxurious bath. We can’t wait to come back next year.

Aylworth is a peaceful haven of friendliness. The hosts, Jo and John Ireland are welcoming and generous - as well as having a memorable sense of humour. Our bed was large with beautiful linen, bathroom full of lotions and fluffy towels. Breakfast was epic. A real find. We will return.

We had a very disappointing experience at Aylworth Manor. We were offered afternoon tea on our arrival which turned out to be one scone each with butter and jam and a cup of tea. We had to share the afternoon tea with the owners in their kitchen. After a tiring drive this was not a pleasant welcome. The bathroom was shared, not ensuite as expected. There was a hot water tank built into a cupboard in our room which caused the room to be so hot I couldn’t sleep well. Evening meals require driving to one of a few pubs in a nearby village. The manor is on a single lane road and navigating small country roads at night is quite daunting for a visitor. It would have been good to have information about the distance to local pubs and restaurants upfront with the option to bring our own food for evening meals. This would have been a more relaxing option for us. It is a beautiful location but the hosting leaves a lot to be desired.

Absoloutley 5 star! I booked for the start of our baby moon and we stayed in the walnut room. Clear directions and such a warm welcome from Sarah upon arrival. We were slightly later than intended arriving which wasn't an issue at all. The house is simply beautiful, what a charming, welcoming and homely Manor house! The house had a beautiful energy to it and you really do feel at-home here. I love the concept of this bnb that the rooms are not lockable and it really doesn't feel like a generic hotel...which I loved! The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed walking around them. The breakfast the next morning was divine with fresh compotes and local produce. I simply can't fault this place and I would love to come back and stay. Book and you will feel totally relaxed! Home from home... thankyou Jo and Jonny.

Lovely B&B centrally located in the Costwolds. The Manor is beautiful, breakfasts are top notch as are the rooms.

We arrived 20 minutes before 4pm and were greeted by the nice gardener who showed us into the house, allowing us to put our luggage inside and noted the owners would be back soon. We waited in our car. The owners got back in just a few minutes. The woman immediately acted as though we were trespassers and aggressively accused us of treading mud into the home. I have it on video, there was a small piece of mud, measuring about 1 inch on her carpet on the stairs, easily removable and for the record was not caused by us. She then cursed at us with words I would never use at anyone let alone paying guests. We were asked to go and come back at 4pm which was about ten minutes away. 2 minutes past 4pm, we knocked on the door and said we were just getting our luggage and would not be staying. Once we left, they gave us trouble in returning our money. This is all during what is supposed to be a pleasure (i.e., non-working non-stressful) trip. Upon reflection the most egregious part was how unwelcome and hostile she was towards us. No matter what time rules she strictly sets for her B&B, we paid and were expecting to be staying as guests. The gardener could have told us to come back at 4pm. Rather than be upset with the gardener, she was upset with us. We didn't have another place to stay. We are from the US and had to quickly figure out where we could go. Luckily it was in March which is not a heavy tourist season so we found several places in near by towns we could stay in. We ended up finding the best place ever with such welcoming and accommodating people. After requesting and fighting for a refund, it took a few days to receive our money back. At first I was so grateful our trip was salvaged I wasn't going to write any reviews. But upon reflection, I found Aylworth Manor on a YouTube channel and I thought if I had read a review such as this one, I would not have booked it and it would have saved us a lot of time, energy and stress. So, this is why I wanted to write this review. I hope I can help prevent someone else from going through what we went through. Btw, I did find a review after returning from our trip which described an eerily similar scenario occurring at Alyworth Manor when that person arrived a few minutes before 4pm as well. So, I think the main issue with the owner is the 4pm arrival. I can't speak for an actual stay there since we left and did not stay. But if you read this review and still want to say there, please be forewarned, do not get there before 4pm. I have also read a lot of reviews saying the owner is strict regarding guests not being in the house between the hours of 10:30am and 4pm during their stay. That rule seems really odd. I can tell you we stayed in Stow-on-the-wold and paid less for a fantastic stay with no restrictions on when we were there, when we were not there. They were very liberal on when we checked out and also provided a fantastic full English breakfast with fresh juices, wonderful toast choices, jams and f

Gorgeous setting in the Cotswolds with magical displays of snowdrops with a backdrop of chickens, ducks, horses and dogs. We stayed in the manor house (there is also a separate Granary to stay in) which was beautiful, warm and comfortable which makes it perfect for a winter visit as well as in warmer months. The bedroom we had was lovely and had everything we needed - large fluffy towels, good quality toiletries and tea and coffee kit with china cups and saucers. Johnny and Jo are kind and considerate hosts and are responsive to any requests for suggestions of what to do locally. The tennis court looked inviting for another time!
