The best part of Sunnyside BnB is the owner, Colleen Wilkins. Genteel, friendly, and accommodating, Colleen welcomes you to her antebellum home. The home is filled with unusual items that Colleen has collected through the years, and she has wonderful stories as she takes you on a tour through her home. Her Christmas tours, called "Do You See What I See?", are amazing with 34 Christmas trees in the house with some very special ornaments. I held a surprise birthday party and dinner at Sunnyside for my husband, and it was perfect. The library and dining room are very unique with books on shelves everywhere. There is a grand piano in the library that anyone may sit down and play, and if you are there at the right time, one of the ladies that helps Colleen serve may just break out into song. Besides being a remarkable business woman and BnB proprietor, she is also an accomplished chef. Our Beef Wellington with fresh green beans, twice baked potatoes, and almond cake for dessert was just as delicious as the sumptuous breakfast you receive in the morning. You sink into the canopied beds for a great sleep. Her gardens are well cared for, and Colleen will give you a tour of them also in the spring when everything is blooming. She uses her own flowers and greenery from her gardens in Sunnyside depending on the season. The party and dinner were a huge success, and the overnight stay was relaxing. We are planning on sending everyone to Sunnyside for a magnificent Southern experience.
