Torre Palombara - Dimora Storica

We stayed at this wonderful location for 2 nights, prior to our wedding close by that followed the day after. I could not recommend this place highly enough. The location, setting, venue, rooms, upkeep, cleanliness, service, breakfast etc. was purely 10/10. The building itself it breathtaking both inside and out. However, the most impressive thing about the entire stay was the attentiveness and hospitality of the owner, Leonardo. He went above and beyond in absolutely everything. From recommending (and booking) local restaurants, to offering to collect takeaway pizzas; all the way to helping us on serious personal matters by calling doctors and arranging appointments for us (even translating with the doctor!). We've never experienced hospitality like it. Thank you for making our stay as comfortable as possible! All in all, we couldn't recommend this place highly enough, and Leonardo is one of the kindest men we've ever met!

Torre Palombara is in a beautiful part of the Umbrian countryside, a short drive to the Marmore waterfalls, Narni, Spoleto and many small medieval towns. It has air conditioned rooms, a pool and we ate breakfast each morning on a patio overlooking verdant fields and hills. The rooms are comfortable and the entire villa is tastefully decorated. Leonardo, his wife and sweet 2 children are lovely! Leonardo offered us many useful suggestions and is clearly passionate about his home (which has been in the family since the 1500’s) and about his region. Thank you Leonardo for making our stay so pleasant and for all your assistance!

If you are planning to visit Umbria, Italy or just going on vacation, visit Leonardo at Torre Palombarra, it is a real treat! This amazing small getaway in the hills of Umbria is an excellent place to relax and explore. We spent five days in Leonardo’s hospitality, but we could literally stay for months. Leonardo and family with staff are the friendliest and most welcoming I have ever met and are leading examples for future reference. Thank you for our visit!

The property is a beautifully renovated house with great seating area outside for breakfast with the most magnificent view. We loved the gentle and warm welcome through out our stay from the owners, Kathrin and Leonardo, and of course the lovely breakfasts Natalia has prepared and served with the most care and always with a smile each morning. We appreciate the super recommendations of travel and restaurants from Leonardo. We had the feeling of visiting friends and that says it all. Thank you again for a wonderful holiday!

We have only spent 2 nights here but we are already booking a week for next year. Leonardo, Catherine are the best hosts in the world. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this beautiful romantic hotel. Natalie made sure that we had the best breakfast in the world every morning. We have never slept better on any other hotel. Perfect mattresses and absolute quite. We had dinner in RestaUrant Rustico, five minutes’ drive from the hotel, every night. Delicious food and excellent service. We even had a ride in Leonardo’s old timer, in a 1934 Fiat. We loved it. The hotel has a perfect location, plenty to see in the region. We visited the Villa of Hadrianus and Villa d’Este as a day trip. We shall be back next year, thank you Leonardo and your team for our great time at your place.

My wife, teenage daughter and I just completed a four night stay at Torre Palombara and found it to be an amazing and truly unique place. The running of the Hotel is clearly a labor of love on the part of the owner, Leonardo. Everything in the hotel has been given such thoughtful consideration and the rooms and property has been maintained and decorated so beautifully that it makes for an experience exceptional (so clean as well). We traveled from the U. S. and were joined by German friends for our stay. Each morning we enjoyed wonderful breakfasts on the terrace (including gluten free options for one in our party with Celiac), which we followed with daily sightseeing, a late afternoon swim in the pool, and then dinner reservations based on the most amazing recommendations from Leonardo. We had told Leonardo that we would enjoy different dinner experiences each night and he did not disappoint. Each dinner was truly unique and each one was wonderful. These were all local restaurants that I doubt they are found in any tour guide - and it makes them extra special as one would never find these places in your own. Both my family as well as our German friends highly recommend Torre Palombara. If you are considering a stay in Umbria, you cannot go wrong with Leonardo and Torre Palombara.

We passed in Torre Palombara 4 days at the beginning of June. Everything was perfect and nice. Mr Leonardo the owner is gentle ad helpful and welcome you in a very Italian style! The area is quiet an peaceful great for long walking and for discover beautiful hidden gems such as Narni, Stroncone, Piediluco lake…not to mention the food and the wine of course…gorgeous! We strongly recommend the area and Torre Palombara .

We recently spent three nights at Torre Palombara. We had a terrific time both at the house, especially for breakfast, and visiting neighboring towns. Leonardo was thoughtful, knowledgeable and engaging; he gave us very helpful tips on places to visit, restaurants, etc. Of these I would highlight Rustico, a restaurant only ten minutes away, with great food and wine at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend Torre Palombara.

I know we often say that we would return to a place or a hotel we loved, though it rarely happens (at least in my case). But I can honestly say that Torre Palombara is one of those places I will 100% return to. Apart from being located in an incredibly charming countryside in Umbria and originally built in the 15th century - Leonardo (the owner) will go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. Will recommend to anyone: family, couples, friends travelling.
