The location is right on the waters edge, with the perfect day beds to enjoy the ocean front. The room is very generous in size, although we had ongoing issues with the airconditioning and it may be an Aussie thing - but no iron and only the option to wait 24 hrs for “laundry” if you needed anything pressed as it’s deemed a “health issue” to have one in the room. (Not ideal when you’re living out of a suitcase.) The Hotel prides itself on ‘being green’, but it just felt like that was an excuse to cut corners on the what they offer. The bikes on offer - were more like they were picked up from a thrift shop - but worked for a morning to travel a little further around the corner. Be sure to enjoy the insane sunsets!

We stayed for ten nights at the Grand Hotel Riviera in July. On arrival we were told that we had one of the best rooms in the hotel and it was spacious with a view of the sea. The positives for the hotel were the attentive staff, the cleanliness, and the beautiful tiled floors! We were very disappointed with the pool area which definitely needs an upgrade and didn't feel as clean as everywhere else. The boarded area on the rocks is fine but be aware that getting in and out of the sea is tricky with lots of rocks to clamber over. The sea was quite rough during our stay which meant either the red flag was up or it was even more hazardous getting in and out. There is a lifeguard . Another disappointment was the bar area which is in the foyer of the hotel with a few chairs on the patioed terrace at the front overlooking the busy road. We were half board and there is only one restaurant so dinner is served in the same place as breakfast. We were expecting fresh melon, pineapple etc but there was only tinned fruit although a melon platter was available to buy on the menu. There was fresh juice. Apart from that breakfast was sweet pastries, sliced bread and some continental hams etc. Dinner was often strange, a few good dishes but not many. There is a barbeque once a week on a terraced area near the pool which the staff work really hard at but the food was really poor which seems a shame. The area is very quiet, there are some bars/restaurants around a 15/25 minute walk away both left and right out of the hotel. We would advise hiring a car, there is a local car hire place but enquire before you go as we couldn't get one for 5 days. We visited Lecce and Gallipoli which were interesting but we weren't impressed with any of the beach areas that we visited. Overall very quiet area, would advise a short stay, hire a car and definitely shoes for the sea.

An outstanding hotel that delivers in every way. We arrived late and they had kept back a cold plate for us. The rooms and facilities are immaculate and cleaned regularly. The total is stunning. I have stayed in 5 star hotels and this is on par with some. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. We chose half board and could move dinner to lunch if wanted. The staff on reception go over and above and Alexandros was exceptional, helping us with taxis and tours. The two local towns are a short walk away and had plenty of lovely bars and restaurants. Be warned the night starts at approximately 9pm and can last until the very early hours, so take a nap in the afternoon. The area is very safe and clean. Not many other English people here which was fabulous to soak up the Italian atmosphere.

Top notch hotel , amazing location and view . Loved the beach and the breakfast. The swimming pool was very nice . The service was perfect. The manager was very accommodating especially when requested late check out. I would go there again without hesitation

This is a really lovely hotel, a short walk from the centre of the town. Very nice rooms, great breakfast, friendly people on reception, decent pool and private access to a beautiful blue sea. The entry to the sea could be tricky as it’s a bit rocky but it was fine for us. We had a minor problem with the air conditioning but they sorted it out as quickly as possible. And the town is an absolute gem - stunning! Couldn’t want for more!

Loved everything about this hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms were cool and a good size with a very comfortable bed. The best part was the lido with sea swimming/ snorkelling directly in front of the hotel. Loads of fish and felt very safe with a lifeguard on duty. The little villages of Santa Caterina and San Maria al Bagno accessible by walking or free bike rental from the hotel with really lovely beach bars and restaurants to explore. Fantastic break and we’d definitely return.
