Exceeded expections on all grounds! I am so happy with the hotel I wanted to spread the word. This hotel has great old world charm and more. I was a little worried about the condition of the hotel (more than 100 years old!) but everything was fine. I stayed at the Main Wing / basic room with park view. The bathroom was basic (business hotel like) but very clean, but the room / bedding and the view at our window was wonderful. Given the low price point, we were very happy with the room. Definitely recommend the Main Wing, and if you can, a room with higher price point. All staff, from shuttle bus / concierge / front desk / bar, are excellent. We really enjoyed the check in process - you can sit at the lounge admiring Einstein's piano while the front staff comes calling your name. Also try the tea lounge both during the day and night (turns to a bar). I would also like to extend special thanks to Korean speaking front manager Lee Su Jin who helped us in so many ways. She really made our stay comfortable. One thing to note about Nara city itself is that most venues close at 4pm and have unpredictable operating hours. You can't just walk around hoping to sit down at a cafe or restaurant. Highly recommend making reservations in advance of your trip and I'm sure Nara hotel concierge can help with this. I really enjoyed Nara Hotel and look really forward to returning.

The hotel has a very Japanese style, the design is very beautiful, the stay was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. The reception staff were very considerate from check-in to check-out. It is recommended to check in early to enjoy the hotel service and atmosphere. If you are walking from Kintetsu Nara Station to the hotel while pushing your luggage, there is a section of rough road that may make it difficult to push your luggage. You may consider taking a taxi, which takes about 5 minutes. The hotel is very close to Todaiji Temple, Nara Park, and Nara Museum, and it is very convenient to go to attractions.

The hotel is next to JR Nara Station, and there are buses to Nara Park and Todaiji Temple. The transportation is very convenient. There are 2 hot spring pools, one of which can be ventilated outdoors, and the feeling is also good. The most important thing is that the price is affordable. If you come to Nara, it is worth staying. The triple room has upper and lower bunks, and there is enough space. There are also many izakayas near the train station hotel. In addition, you can drink for free in the hotel bar before 21:00, and you can even buy octopus balls downstairs and bring them up to eat. (The hotel welcomes food)

GGuest User 2024.12.26
This is a superb hotel and I rate it so highly that I took the initiative to write a review here. First of all, the location is superb, just behind Xingfu Temple, you can reach it by the stairs. There are often deer by the pond next to the hotel, which can be seen in the room (I booked two rooms and I can see them by opening the window). If you want to go to various attractions, you can walk for three to five minutes. If you want to eat at the restaurant where locals eat every day, it is even more convenient. The food is good and cheap and very authentic, which is completely different from the scenic spot. Secondly, the whole hotel is at the junction of residential areas and scenic spots. Both the surrounding environment and the hotel itself are quite quiet, and I suspect that I was the only traveler in the hotel for these two nights. I really don’t understand why others don’t choose it; thirdly, maybe because there were really no guests, the hygiene was very good. I saw other comments saying that the quilt was very cold at night. This hotel has heating, and the quilt cover is indeed very slippery, but the heating is turned on so that we don’t need to cover the quilt at all... There is a large bathhouse on the underground first floor, which is very clean and empty, so I have it all to myself... Finally, thank you for specially arranging to upgrade the two best rooms in the hotel because of my birthday, and also preparing birthday gifts for me. After checking out, they also prepared handwritten birthday cards and candies, which I have never encountered in five-star hotels. I highly recommend everyone to stay in this hotel. If I come to Nara again in the future, I will continue to choose this hotel.

This hotel is located on Mount Wakakusa in Nara. The location is a bit remote, but the scenery is really great, especially in the early morning, when you see the entire Nara city shrouded in mist, it is super beautiful. The room is a traditional Japanese tatami room, which is quite comfortable but not too luxurious. The hot spring is open-air, so you can soak in it while looking at the mountain view, which is really relaxing. However, the hot spring pool is not big and may be a bit crowded if there are many people. Dinner was kaiseki, and the portion was a bit too much for us. Generally speaking, this place is suitable for people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax. Just be mentally prepared. This place is quite quiet and there are not many entertainment facilities. The focus is on relaxation.

Service: The front desk was very polite. The rice balls breakfast was good. The milk was sweet and not fishy at all. It was delicious. There was also a self-service tea from 3pm to 7pm. Environment: The hotel is located near Nara Park, very close to Kofuku-ji Temple, and about 15 minutes to the subway station. Facilities: Small but complete. The most basic room type booked, the floor-to-ceiling panoramic window P4 is worth it, but the only drawback is that the table is very small. You need to prepare your own toothbrush and toothpaste.

LLung TsangIt was a steal luxury at this hotel during our stay! Looks lush with elegance, the room was bigger than ordinary Japan hotel room and the receptionists spoke perfect English which is not usual in Japan. We got a great offer to shop the nara deer toy at a local shop thanks to the hotel stay. The hotel restaurant offers nice breakfast choice at a reasonable price and we saw it was packed during dinner time too. It is close to both Kintetsu Nara Station and Nara Park. GGuest UserFantastic Hotel with a perfectly convenient location. The only thing is the bad attitude of a female manager at the front desk. We asked for more bottled water, but she refused. Refusing is OK, but she thought we didn't understand Japanese and said some bad words to us. Unfortunately, we are just not fluent in Japanese, but we can totally understand what she was saying. A pathetic woman manager ruined other staff's good service and hard work.

You just scan your passport and enter some basic information, then you can get the room key. The room size is great for 2 people and all suitcases could be fully opened. If you want to store your luggage after check out, also need to press and pay at the store luggage machine by yourself. That was good for teenagers or adults for staying. Wwee teeBooked this hotel through Trip which was a godsend. The hotel that I booked through ******* was screwed up big time by ******* because the hotel didn't receive the reservation apparently. ******* was not helpful with the relocation (even thought there were availability at other hotels), claiming the hotel class are different from the one I booked. Anyways this hotel is convenient and clean, only thing that I disliked was the site mentioned double bed BUT only can accommodate 1 person!? Ended we have to pay additional ¥3k for the 3rd person (my youngest daughter) for 2 rooms. 1 room for myself and the other for both daughters because the manager was adamant about the 1 room per person, however after paying the additional ¥3k he was ok with 2 persons in a room. Didn't make sense unless I was explained it is some government regulations to allow only 1 double bed room for 1 person

GGuest UserA beautiful and modern hostel. Unfortunately I never met any staff member and also no one cleaned or arranged the beds, while I was there. All the lights remained on, even in the dorm and there’s no possibility to turn them off. The dorm itself was unfortunately also quite cold, while all the other spaces were warm and cozy. Otherwise everything was okay. There was a nice common space. But in general it doesn’t feel very safe and organized, as anyone can just enter the hostel and the dorm without any key or password.
