The retro style, taste and details are all online. Even the tea sets and paper towels are high-end brands. The sea is just across the street. I originally planned to stay for only one night, but because I liked it so much, I stayed for another night👍～～In addition, parking on weekdays is NZD20/day. The parking lot is in front of a nearby art center. If you leave early and come back late, it is more cost-effective to pay by the hour. However, parking is free on weekends.

Great hotel, with a strong sense of history, and the front desk is very patient and enthusiastic. The room is small but exquisite, and the bedding and pillows are comfortable. The hotel is located near the Little Mermaid statue, and it is a bit noisy at night near the street.

Individual hotel with a bar & restaurant plus a pub as part of the complex. Easy car parking
Great location across the road from the beach & garden areas. Walkable to all shops restaurants etc.
Comfortable bed. Lovely to stay in a hotel with such a history

Quirky hotel very close to the sea front. Only negative was the noisy cars which circulate the town on weekends late into the evening ….

Very small room, described as “superior“ which would not describe this room. Uneven floors in the hallway as well as inside the room!
Apparently uninformed staff regarding nearby locations and activities.
Essentially no services in the hotel, including cleaning and tidying the room!
The only good thing to say is it is in a great location.

Great location. Super clean and great staff. You are in central square in a very old building so you will hear traffic noise.
