Teoria Paros - Matsas Windmill

Issues were as followed: 1. The pictures are very misleading, the bathroom we were given was NOTHING like the pictures we had seen on ******* 2. Room needs TLC- wires sticking out of walls, rusty clothes rail, bathroom shower rail broken, chipped paint. 3. We found cockroaches in our room 4. On complaining about the cockroach, the receptionist was not as helpful as we would have liked, she said she wasn’t sure if there was a different room and it didn’t seem like she was in a rush to look and help (she mentioned she had to go somewhere else to check as her things (perhaps including computer) were no longer in the reception. It seemed like she was about to go home. 5.After taking to the receptionist, we then went through ******* to complain and they spoke to the manager (offsite) who suggested we go down to reception to speak to someone to request a room move, however reception was closed at least 30-40 minutes before this. (This all happened between 5:30-6:30pm) On the website, the hotel states it has limited reception hours but you’d expect someone to be there around 6pm given this is a common arrival time. Compared to other hotels in the area of a similar or cheaper price, it is not worth the money you pay.

We thought we were getting a beautiful hotel at the Matsas Windmill, like the ones we saw in their website. We got a small “2 bedroom” one bathroom “house”. When we walked in there were three beds in what looked like the “living space” and then a “master” with a “king bed” which was two singles conjoined by a sheet. The bathroom was tiny and water leaked everywhere when we showered, the door would bang into the sink, there wasn’t much ventilation in there just a tiny window that people can see us through if it’s open. The living space was a different story, there was a sliding door but it didn’t work, there is no stove, no bench space, the TINY tv is cracked, there is no hot water in the kitchen, and the fridge… oh the fridge, it STANK OF FISH. Every time we opened it a huge waft of fish came to our faces it was disgusting and it contaminated all of our food with the smell. There’s not a lot of space to put your things so my sister and I had to put our stuff on the spare bed in the living space. Aside from all of that the did make our beds and every two days change the towels (I think) and there was air conditioning (one for the living space and one for the master) but it was extremely loud and there was only one remote. There also was things we could use to cook like a kettle, hot plate ect… except the bowls they gave us could barely fit a cup of noodles! There were also little bugs like I saw a few small spiders and ants probably once a day. The last error we saw was when you were walking down the ***** of concrete to get to the house there was a one metre drop on the right into a stairwell to some sort of garage space, there was no railing or anything. I’m sure this hotel is fantastic because we walked through where we thought we were staying and it looked really pretty but we were dissatisfied with our stay.

Property was beautiful, check-in was easy and the hotel was able to accommodate us a arriving a bit early due to ferry times which was absolutely amazing and much appreciated. The location was perfect for us, a nice quick walk to the main city centre of Naoussa. Lots of parking around too which was great for the days we rented ATVs. Overall 10/10

We booked 2 rooms well in advance and when we arrived one room had no aircon working so they tried to put us all in one room which was not desirable. After staff ringing the owner who said we lied about the aircon, we had to all stay in one apt. The kitchen was so small that you could not even put plates etc on bench, no hot water and 2 people could not pass. The bathroom floor flooded. Find somewhere else if you can!

We stayed in the base of the actual windmill which was a unique experience for us . There was plenty of room with a double and two twin beds . Rooms cleaned every day fresh sheets and towels every two days and the staff very friendly. The shower curtain is problematic as it’s a challenge to use properly to prevent water going everywhere . No kettle and kitchen facilities are minimal but there’s a fridge .

Great location, clean, friendly and very homely. Close to beach and main location of Naoussa but not too close, so nice and quiet at nights. Surrounding hotels and local eateries near by. Staff are very hospitable and accomodate to requests
