We had a lovely time here on our weekend getaway to Nantucket at Life House! The hotel is beautiful with amazing touches to make you feel special! The staff was so accommodating and worked very hard to meet our needs. MacKenzie and Georgia were awesome! Its a great location with everything in walking distance. We would go back in a heartbeat!

We were concerned about staying at Life House based upon the most recent reviews. Knowing that some reviews don't always align with ours, we kept the reservation. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted and were given assistance with our luggage (however, no assistance was provided upon departure). The stairs are STEEP. These steps would be hard to navigate for those with leg and or back issues. Upon check-in, no information and/or recommendations were provided about happy hour, breakfast, or local activities or restaurants. Our room was on the third floor; it was small and definitely wasn't luxurious. The most positive aspect of the room was how clean it was. We appreciate the housekeeping staff, they did an amazing job! There were three windows in the room and only one opened. The storm windows wouldn't push up for two of the windows. It would have been wonderful to have a cross breeze. This was just one of our concerns during our stay; the theme was an overall lack of attention to detail. The a/c unit was a nigh**are...it came on and off at random times throughout the night, and there seemed to be no control of the temperature. And it was LOUD! If all three windows opened, we wouldn't have used a/c. It seems that the Inn's advertising is based on the bath products and the Marshall Speaker that we never used. It was tacky, they sell the products in the living room and they are displayed on the porch; not a great first impression; buy stuff $$$$. $50.00 for a beach towel, and $65 for a bottle of hand soap? Absolutely hilarious. Due to the weather, we only sat by the fire-pit one night and there were cigarette butts throw in it. Again, a total lack of attention to detail. The kitchen situation was strange and awkward. We had to ask when happy hour was, definitely not advertised or communicated unless you asked. You have to walk to the kitchen door and place your order, very odd. And...no snacks were provided. It felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. On one evening, my spouse and another couple were waiting for a happy hour beverage at 5pm, and by 5:15 no one came out to take our orders. Then a fifth guest entered the kitchen, and only then did a staff member take an order. As mentioned, the service was lacking and bizarre during our entire stay. Breakfast isn't a breakfast. Again, we had to walk to the doorway and ask for coffee and ask what was available. The pastry was a croissant. Advertising of this Inn is not aligned with the actual experience. The staff members were all pleasant but the whole stay was odd and hospitality was LACKING. We could have stayed where we have stayed in the past but wanted to try someplace new. It's apparent that training in the area of hotel hospitality is GREATLY needed and SOON. We REALLY hope that upper level management/ownership reads this and inspects all operations. This trip was not cheap and unfortunately, unless things change DRAMATICALLY, we have ZERO motivatio

If you are in your late twenties, early thirties and want a few Insta moments then this property is for you. If you are an older, more discerning traveler then I would suggest selected another place to stay (I refrain from saying the word hotel because it is more like just renting a room). The young team manning the "breakfast" selections could were always pleasant but at $900 a night, Life House lacks basic amenities and services. The property has great promise but needs to up its game as there are plenty of other, better places to stay on the island. Our room was considered "the best" room but needed a fresh coat of paint, more hangers, a luggage rack, counter space, sconces that work, a Nespresso machine, etc. In addition, the bikes offered at the hotel should be free of charge to guests. One good thing is at least the bed was comfortable but at this price, look elsewhere and don't be fooled by savvy marketing.

The reviews I read misrepresented the experience we had it was described as a luxury hotel but it is in fact a bed and breakfast As a B & B it’s just ok but it’s not close to a luxury hotel or anything luxurious unless you thinkstaying with your grandma is luxurious List of specific negative 1- shade doesn’t go down all the way Light comes in during the night 2- bathroom has no place for toiletries 3-tv not watchable from bed 4-flea market area rug

We so wanted to love this property. So many great amenities we were looking forward to enjoying. The only way to communicate with the property is via their app messaging system. We had a couple of questions before our arrival and used the messaging but did not have much success. When we arrived the inn was darling. One of the first questions I asked was if there was somewhere I could get a Diet Coke in the morning. The house manager said I could walk to town. I asked if there was a fridge on site I could put one in for the morning. I was told the guests were not allowed to use the fridge. During happy hour we were offered a menu of several beverage offerings. But we’re told they only had 3 of the options. Off to a tad of a rocky start. Unfortunately we had unseasonably HOT weather. So A/C was paramount. It sounded like the engine of a jet plane falling to the ground every time it clicked on. Not a restful night. Morning 1 we went down around 7:45. The property advertised fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt etc. there was a single muffin left. We spent the day exploring the beautiful island and arrived back at property around 4. Housekeeping had not yet attended to our room. We were told since we were back she couldn’t get to it and handed me a couple of towels. Nothing about our stay was delightful. It was as if we were troubling the staff by being there. We changed properties that night. I would have welcomed the opportunity to talk with management but there is no phone number to call.

Our stay was beyond. Beyond what you need, want, and probably desire with an active mind. McKenzie was the hostess with the mostest. We actually didn’t spend the most time at the property, but the time spent was the best.
