The Richforest Hotel - Sun Moon Lake
4.2/550 Reviews
Sun Moon Lake Ita Thao Wharf Market Place
The good thing is that the hotel is strategically located right by the lake on the edge of the village. There is a floating dock with a location on it, where you can enjoy the view while drinking. It is a five-minute walk from the shops, restaurants and other living facilities in Yuchi Township. The hotel looks very beautiful, made of wood, the walls and ceilings of the room are also made of wood, there is a very warm and attractive feeling. Free wireless Internet is available. On the poor side, our room was obviously dirty. Several obvious spots on the beige carpet had a few large, uncomfortable-looking stains. There was a used wet towel on the floor of the shower room, which indicated that the cleanliness of the room and the level of preparation of the room were not high. We weren’t surprised to be staying in room 303 because we stayed for one night and didn’t expect the best room they could give us. The good side of the room is that the lake view is very beautiful (not all rooms can see the lake view), the bad room is that the room is just next to the lobby, so it is very noisy. The front desk kept music and heard it clearly in the room (I think there was a loudspeaker on one wall in the room). After a few hours I told the front desk staff if they would mind turning the volume down a little bit, and they agreed. We could hear it though the business wasn't that loud. Another group gathered in the lobby before setting off, and the noise of their talking and laughing was loud in the room. So if you are staying at this hotel, I suggest you want a room a little further from the front desk. There is an indoor pool downstairs which is great if the water is warm. The water in the same jacuzzi is also very cold. This time of year this place is quite cold, especially at night, so it would be great if you could swim or soak in warm water. We didn't see a person swimming when we lived there. Now talk about breakfast: breakfast should have been from 7 to 9:30. We arrived at the restaurant at 9 o'clock and saw a smileless lady. She took our breakfast coupon and didn't say a word, and then we were the air. There was another employee at that time. A young male waiter. There were a lot of empty tables, but the tableware was not set. After a while we found that we had to do it ourselves, we looked around and found some tableware mats and knives and forks and arranged the table ourselves. Then we went to get something to eat. Although they are still half an hour away from their service, it is obvious that they will not add anything more, and now how much is how much. Because of this, we have to eat several times, like fresh fruit, juice and scrambled eggs. I walked towards the two employees, who were at a table in the corner, far from the guests, and I asked if they would add more to their meal. The lady was still indifferent, and the male waiter looked blank. I motioned for him to come with me, led him to the food table, showed him the juice maker and scrambled egg plates were empty. He nodded, then disappeared into the kitchen, and after a while he brought a glass of juice over, which I drank with my wife. Five minutes later he brought us an egg for two of us to eat. At 9:25, the lady frowned as we left. The male waiter was invisible. When you are looking forward to the general breakfast experience at a Taiwanese hotel - friendly welcome, lead you to the table, ask if you want coffee, thoughtful service, thank you when you leave, etc. - then Sun Moon Lake Lushan Forest International Hall is really funny compared to that. My wife and I have been constantly feeling the friendship and enthusiasm of the Taiwanese people during our two-week trip to Taiwan, and we are impressed and happy with this, so we will not be less impressed by Taiwan because of this unpleasant experience. However, if you want to feel the hospitality of Taiwan, I suggest you try other hotels. (Fortunately, we didn't have dinner in the hotel restaurant before, otherwise we would be disappointed twice. We went to the Regal Resort B&B 50 yards away and had a very interesting and enjoyable dinner in a garden lit by candles. The place also has guest rooms, full of artwork and tourist souvenirs. This one might also be a good choice in the area.)

Sun Moon Lake Ita Thao Wharf Market Place
The international chain hotel by Sun Moon Lake stands out as a new contender, still in its trial operation phase, not officially open yet. The hallways retain a lingering scent of renovation. Diamond members are entitled to early check-in and 1pm late check-out, with no breakfast included as clearly indicated. I was upgraded to the top-level 12th-floor Family Balcony room, whereas the base rooms don't come with a balcony. The balcony offers a partial view of Sun Moon Lake, perfect enjoying a relaxing sunset. The hotel's location might not be the absolute best, but it's definitely the highest around, and the advantages become apparent with increased elevation. They've named it a hot spring hotel, complete with complimentary indoor hot springs, a sauna, and a steam room. And in addition to the public hot springs, each room is equipped with two private pools, one cold and one hot. The minibar is complimentary, though it only includes three bottles of soda and juice. They also provide beverage vouchers and bike rental discounts. The beverage voucher options are somewhat limited, but the bike vouchers can be used for cycling around Sun Moon Lake. Right downstairs, there's a small night market and a street full of street food vendors. You can easily find breakfast and dinner options here. I tried one of the seafood street vendors for dinner, and the taste was exceptional with very fresh seafood. Within a short walk, you can reach the Sun Moon Lake Visitor Center.

Sun Moon Lake Water Pier
I came to Taiwan to participate in a colleague’s wedding in Sun Moon Lake. I thought that when I came to Taiwan, I might as well find a hotel for a bath. I saw the Sun Moon Hotel near the Hanbi Tower. The check in was received by a special person to the room and gave an introduction. The refrigerator in the room is free for cold drinks, and there is also a set of tea sets and black tea and green tea. It is so intimate. The most shocking is the 180-degree glass bathing pool. At the same time, there is a glass door that can be opened to directly contact the sober air of the lake. Drinking iced sparkling, applying a facial mask, and soaking in beauty soup are relaxing. When you’re tired, you can take a rest on the balcony chair, sipping Assam tea, looking at Guanghua Island in the distance, recalling elementary school textbooks and articles, time flies by.

Xitou Monster Village
Although the hotel has a history of more than 30 years, its location is really good. It is very close to Xitou Nature Education Park. There is a shuttle bus to and from the hotel. The hotel lobby is spacious and gorgeous, but the furnishings in the restaurant and rooms are relatively old, and the hardware is average. However, the service staff in the hotel restaurant and the activity center were very kind and courteous, and introduced the activities in the hotel and nearby attractions in detail. If you travel to Xitou again, you will definitely stay here again.

Cingjing Farm
An unforgettable accommodation experience, whether it is the environment, service, or food, is the most memorable of all the hotels I have stayed in. It is a boutique masterpiece created by the Luo family in Taiwan, which spent a billion NT dollars and took ten years. Everyone A characteristic hotel that you should visit at least once in your life, give it full marks👍👍👍
