The Madison hotel 美酒店 is outstanding. While
the rooms are starting to age, the service far outpaces any inconvenience due to the room conditions. The manager upgraded me to a larger room that had just been renovated for no extra charge and delivered caring service. He upgraded my room right when a swarm of guests, who all likely booked more expensive rooms that I did, entered the lobby. Yet, the manager prioritized me. That is not to say the older rooms are dirty or uncomfortable, the bedrooms are great, it's just the bathrooms were due for upgrades during my stay. The service staff responds to requests thoroughly and the front desk staff is genuinely helpful and warm. They helped me look for cheaper booking methods for my reservation and let me check in early. My next trip to 南京 will center around the 美仑 again.

Advantages: good location, close to Confucius Temple, close to shopping malls, good service. Disadvantages: The quality is not high, the hygiene is not complete, there are tissues on the bed when checking in, and the room has no air conditioning. It was a few degrees outside in January, but the room was at least 20 degrees, which was speechless. The bathroom design is problematic, the wash basin is right next to the toilet, making it difficult to stand. The shower door is also very close to the toilet and you have to walk sideways to enter. The shower floor is very prickly and uncomfortable.

The service is satisfactory and any problems are dealt with in a timely manner. Confucius Temple and Xinanli are all very close to each other on the horizontal square floor. Shopping nearby is very convenient. You can check out famous food on the internet within walking distance.

The room is a bit small. It's 10 minutes' walk from the subway station. The environment is okay. I can see the Bao'en Temple Tower from where I stayed. The front desk arranged a non-smoking room, 3Q.
