The location was excellent, and the open facilities were very good. I understand it's a "China thing" that prevents outdoor swimming pools from being open to the public other than July - August - but it's ridiculous and one that a 5-star hotel should change. You advertise having an indoor and outdoor pool; however, 85% of the entire year, it is closed.... so how can you say you have an outdoor pool? It's false advertising. It was 32 degrees this weekend and perfect weather for the outdoor pool, but you didn't have it open - thus, I took away two stars on facilities. The service in the restaurant was EXCELLENT on the 45th floor, extremely good and well worth the 5stars; the front desk people also on the 1st floor incredible; however, the service in the (the indoor!!!) swimming pool was extremely average - feeling like being served from student intern vs. any 5star customer service at all. The service in the bar on the 78th floor was highly average. also, for 5star, with us having to ask for drinks and not a single smile when serving the drinks, while the 78th-floor views are breathtaking, the service was let down. Last but not least, our parents-in-law traveled with us and rang the front desk for help with the TV. They rang twice, and they were waiting for someone to help them. I have stayed at Intercontinental Hotels in other locations, and the service is always very good. While some departments at this location were good, they needed to be more balanced by the inconsistency of the other departments.

No one replied to email despite you sent twice. Broken coffee machine in the room, asked for help, took half an hour to resolve. Not very satisfied with the service.

Wonderful location Equipment level has got improvements

Extremely pricey but great location. It's probably the most iconic building in Nanjing after all. One very unacceptable thing for me is that the bathtub was just broken. If you wanted to enjoy sitting down in a tub of water and relaxing for a while, too bad.

The hotel is already some years old, some parts of the room are not working properly. AC wasn’t able to go under 25 degree. Soundbar wasn’t working… SPA Area already closed since January.

Excellent hotel in every way. Huge room, spectacular view and most importantly very comfortable bed and quiet room.

Perfect location & rooms with great breakfast

Rather typical Intercontinental, a bit pricey for the amenities and infrastructure that they offer.

When visiting Nanjing I always choose Intercontinental. Excellent service, nice rooms, beautiful view. Also Nanjing is a great city!

First time to Nanjing, thought about booking one of these Shangri-la, Marriot, Andaz, Kempinski and Intercontinental. Decision was made - Intercontinental, the tallest hotel in the region, closed to metros and local shops. Free upgraded room with sensational view to Xuan Wu Lake, hotel team are all excellent from check-in to check-out. Overall, highly recommended hotel to tourist visiting Nanjing.

Great service, late check out available, good food. Everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel and at a good price too

It’s hot night without air conditioning due to the season changing, for me it’s not acceptable. But the house keeping assistant and front desk are very polite and helpful, tell us open the window could help. But, it’s a 5 star luxury hotel, and I paid for the premium club floor room.
