Hotels Near Nanjing Confucius Temple in Nanjing

I have never felt so compelled to write a review for a hotel. Our stay at Jinling Mandarin Garden Hotel Nanjing was a disappointing one. First of all the theme room we reserved was a very small room with view of another building with absolutely no privacy. The corridor and the room reeked of cigarette smoke at all time. So much so we had to turned off the centralised cooling system and rely on a fan I requested from the front desk. Anyway the cooling system was set at 23 and felt very stuffy. The light in the toilet turned off after a certain period and the motion sensor was not the most sensitive. I paid for comfort and do not appreciate to be dictate when and how to use them. I like my room to be 20C and lights on during the time I’m in the shower however long it takes. And absolutely do not appreciate to be subjected to inhale secondhand smoke for the last 2 days. It was a birthday celebration that has been ruined, not only that you didn’t take note of the request, first was given a room without a bathtub then we finally settled with one that has one but stank with cigarettes smell and with absolutely no view. Breakfast was very average but sufficient, full unhappy staffs standing around. Coffee was excellent though. Beside the good location right next to Fuzimiao that’s nothing good about the hotel unfortunately. It takes lots of tourist groups so the breakfast area gets very busy. For the price we paid there are many more better hotels to choose from in the area. My biggest regret in this trip.

Hotel service is in place, the order is communicated by phone in advance, the problem is solved as soon as there is a demand, the environment is also very good, very comfortable, there are many business district scenic spots and snacks nearby, the traffic is also very convenient, it is worth staying, recommended! ! ! ! Very close to Confucius Temple and Zhanyuan, ten minutes walk from Sanshan Street subway station

The Madison hotel 美仑酒店 is outstanding. While the rooms are starting to age, the service far outpaces any inconvenience due to the room conditions. The manager upgraded me to a larger room that had just been renovated for no extra charge and delivered caring service. He upgraded my room right when a swarm of guests, who all likely booked more expensive rooms that I did, entered the lobby. Yet, the manager prioritized me. That is not to say the older rooms are dirty or uncomfortable, the bedrooms are great, it’s just the bathrooms were due for upgrades during my stay. The service staff responds to requests thoroughly and the front desk staff is genuinely helpful and warm. They helped me look for cheaper booking methods for my reservation and let me check in early. My next trip to 南京 will center around 美仑 again.

A beautiful hotel located in a convenient area of Nanjing, the hotel is hidden away behind a few other restaurants making the hotel feel secluded and quiet. We were extremely happy and impressed with the service provided, the staff were always friendly and helped with every request or questions we had. Could not have wished for a better hotel and staff experience - 5*. 酒店的卫生环境都很好！酒店的服务也很不错，前台总是跟热情，并且酒店的位置不错，就在夫子庙景区里，很方便！

Location of hotel was great. Slightly off centre from the main shopping area so it’s not too noisy/ crowded. Within 5-8 mins walking distance from the mrt station and fu zi miao area. It’s located right within qin huai he scenic area. Lots of good food in the area. Hotel staff were great, would recommend as usual with any atour hotel.

Negative aspects: No one in this hotel can make a complete sentence in English, which is a problem as they welcome guests from anywhere in the planet. My room had no soap for washing hands. I could listen the neighbors opening and closing their door with violence, inside my room - the sound protection is not that good. The breakfast is below average - no variety, mostly focused on Chinese food for breakfast, and the place is small and usually a mess (not clean at all). Positive aspects:  the location and the quality of the mattress (5 stars). Well, and the room was clean.

📍great location! You can walk to the Confucius temple, near for the subway 👥 staff is helpful and friendly 🛏️ the room has a lot of space, beds are comfortable but a little bit small for two adults. Need to improve the cleanliness of the floor, I spilled some water and when I dried the floor, the paper was very dirty (totally black) 🍳 The English breakfast is tasty

My wife had booked a hotel nearby this one, but the rooms were only 16m2 to 20m2. This is way too small, and they were expensive. Then I found the Hotel V and the rooms were cheaper, but much larger. My room was 45m2, and it came with a den area in a Japanese style setting. We have 2 kids, so they went directly into that area and never left. Both kids did their homework there and played there. This left the main room for the adults. The staff were exceptionally friendly and incredibly helpful, and most of all polite. There is spacious underground parking that was clean and not old, dusty, and smelly. The location is great, in a food plaza, directly across from Starbucks and near two subway lines. I used the subway to travel to and from Nanjing South Railway Station. No taxis needed. The cost of the hotel room was very reasonable, rather awesome for the type of room I had. This is a 5-star, even if it is not a 5-star!

The hotel is a bit old. Had to change rooms in the middle of the night due to something not working in the room. Room temperature is set by the hotel so it can get hot. Fridge didn’t work. They won’t deliver your food to your room. This means you need to go downstairs to pick up your our food. Bad way to provide a service at a five star hotel.

Such a beautiful hotel. Smells lovely is new and very clean. The staff although their English was limited were warm and friendly. We had an amazing room which overlooked the canal. We had a lovely breakfast with many choices. I loved that every thing was citrus based. The red tea was especially very good. The location of this hotel was perfect within walking distance to the lively Confucius shopping district and also to the metro which made getting around very easy. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to incredible, lovely Nanjing. Thankyou Orange hotel for making our stay in Nanjing unforgettable.
