The hotel is convenient to everything and is clean but not very friendly. The fire alarm went off at midnight and everyone evacuated. There was no apology or information given and the air con didn’t work afterwards.

The location of the hotel is superb. Its design and decoration is charming and the literary theme adds interest. Although small, our room was comfortable and relaxing. The bathroom was excellent. The variety and quality of foods on offer for breakfast was extremely good but the hotel is let down by the cramped nature of the breakfast room. Having to queue and manouevre around other guests is annoying and spoils an otherwise excellent experience.

A hotel with cozy atmosphere, warm welcome, excellent breakfast and perfect location. The hotel is nicely decorated and provides an inspiring atmosphere for a city tour of Nancy.

A good quality hotel in a historic buiding along from the Cathedral and close to Place Stanislas. Easy walking distance to the centre of the city, and bus stop by hotel. Parking at Pl Stanislas multistorey close by, unloading directly by hotel. Top quality staff, and well appointed rooms - the Stendhal literary connection is a nice theme throughout. Good selection for breakfast served in a tasteful area.

We have a great stay here - the room was very spacious and comfortable, check-in and check-out were very easy and the location right in the heart of Nancy (literally adjoining the cathedral!) was superb. We really appreciated the little literary touches like the books in the room, the wall decorations etc. Highly recommended.

We had a very nice and short stay at the Hôtel Littéraire Stendhal. The room was small but very cozy and comfortable enough for the three nights. The bathroom was clean and there were enough towels. The reception staff were all helpful and very accommodating. Even when we wanted to explore the city on the last day before our journey home, it was no problem to leave our luggage at the hotel for a few hours. The only drawback was that a family moved in above us and you could hear the children romping around in the morning over the ceiling. On the whole, however, we can recommend the hotel.

We had just a one night stay here. Lovely boutique-style hotel with lots of character. Only slightly odd thing was the stained glass window between the bathroom & the bedroom, so a little lacking in privacy for whoever you're sharing the room with. This is an old building so appreciate the history rather than criticise it.

A lovely, charming hotel, very clean, excellent bedding and bed-linen, particularly soft, very well located. The only problem is that you can hear every single step of the people above you because of the old wooden floor (part of the charm...). For those without hearing problems, ask for the top floor with nobody above and you'll be fine.
