We had just a one night stay here. Lovely boutique-style hotel with lots of character. Only slightly odd thing was the stained glass window between the bathroom & the bedroom, so a little lacking in privacy for whoever you're sharing the room with. This is an old building so appreciate the history rather than criticise it.

A lovely, charming hotel, very clean, excellent bedding and bed-linen, particularly soft, very well located. The only problem is that you can hear every single step of the people above you because of the old wooden floor (part of the charm...). For those without hearing problems, ask for the top floor with nobody above and you'll be fine.

Hotel Prelats was a wonderful experience. We stayed in one of the better rooms, Prelats. It was definitely European, no wash cloths but wonderful bed and great location. A short 2 blocks to Stanislaus Square and the travel bureau office. Close to many of the restaurants on our list and right near the light rail. ONe interesting thing which i found unusual, but maybe I am old fashioned, in one of the Prelats rooms the tub is in the bedroom and in the other it is closed but with a few windows (for a peek at your beloved i suppose). The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke good English. Nancy was wonderful with great art neuveaux buildings. We rented a car from Eurocar and drove to Verdun and Metz and back in one not very difficult day. We highly recommend this hotel.

Charming hotel in an old, restored house from 1609, built between the Cathedral and the Convent of Les Soeurs de l'Alliance. The hotel is located about 100 metres from the beautiful Place Stanislas (which is on Unesco's World Heritage List). A lot of other sights of Nancy's Old Town are in walking distance, as are some good restaurants and a lot of shops. We stayed for 4 nights in a standard twin room on the second floor (nr. 228). This room, looking out on surrounding buildings and the square in front of the hotel, is small and very basic but nevertheless quite charming, with 2 comfortable twin beds and a (soundproof) window which can be opened. The room is a bit noisy because of the (400 years old) thin walls and creaky floor. The separate bathroom is modern but very, very small, and has a washstand, a toilet and a bath with a handheld shower head. We really missed a decent shower! Room and bathroom were clean. All rooms have free wifi. The breakfast buffet is good and adequate. The hotel does not have a restaurant, so you have to go outside for dinner. (I can recommend restaurant 'La Primatiale', around the corner of the Cathedral.) Staff is friendly and polite, but not all of them do speak English. (Cheap) parking is nearby in the parking garage across the street. We paid (mastercard) € 28,00 for 3,5 days.

Hotel des Prelats is a 3 star hotel the in Cathedral square in Nancy in a building that dates from 1602. The hotel has a certain charm to it and the beds are comfortable if a little firm. Rooms with windows facing the square are noisy so if that bothers you ask for a room with a window to the inner courtyard. The floor are wooden so you can hear your upstairs neighbours coming home, if that bothers you ask for a room on the top floor. The breakfast is simple but very good and the staff are delightful. Romy, who seemed to work ever hour under the sun, handled both our check in and out. What a terrific employee, she should be given a bonus.

The location is really great---next to the cathedral and in walking distance and close to pretty much everywhere in Nancy. We stayed 3 nights in a double room. It was pretty small and basic but was very clean and comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was great and there was space in/near sink to put our toiletry bags. We slept well and the room was quiet (we had a room on the side overlooking the courtyard). We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so I can't comment on that. The room rate was good--fairly inexpensive.

Stayed here 2 nights. Easy 12 minutes walk (slightly downhill) from railway station. Friendly reception, allowed me into room earlier than stated check in of 3:00 pm. Some noise from other rooms but not significant. Room was clean, bathroom larger than most in France, 4 poster bed was v comfortable. Easy walk to Stanislas Place for evening light show. Would happily stay again.

I recommend never ever to book this hotel or to rely on written confirmations or oral guarantees given by them. Hotel des Prelats Nancy managed to ruin my parents last holiday together. My mistake is not rereconfirming (for the third time!) my arrival before undertaking a six hour drive to Nancy. Their mistake: they messed up our booking and never solved the problem. It is the latter that I hold against them, because of course everyone can make a mistake. It’s all about what you do to minimise the damage! This is what happened: My parents are both over 85 years old and due to a cerebral stroke, my mother is severely handicapped, both mentally and physically. She has vascular dementia, meaning that she has several major behavioural issues. Her short term memory is gone, she has no patience, temper fits and no understanding of her situation. My father is her caretaker and has no time of his own as she is incredibly demanding. My husband and I decided to take them on a trip to Nancy to give him some rest and to give them both a break from their locked at home lives, which they hadn’t been able to leave for years. Of course, this was quite some expedition which needed thourough preparation. I searched for a hotel with special accessibility for the impaired. It wasn’t easy as most hotels were booked, and it took me quite some time to find what I was looking for. When I stumbled upon Les Prelats, I called them TWICE to check, confirm and ask for a written (email) confirmation of my booking. Lucas and Ludivine were very friendly on the phone, and after the second phone call I received the email confirmation I had asked for. After a six hour drive (quite exhausting for an impaired 85+ year old and extremely stressful for those accompanying her!) it turned out that insipite our written confirmation, they had made a mistake and given our rooms away. Ludivine at the desk told us not to worry and that she’d find us another hotel. She made a few calls but none had a room for handicapped available. I was not surprised. It was Ascension Day, many hotels were fully booked. While I was waiting at the reception desk, about 8 (!!!) other couples and groups entered to check into the hotel. To my astonishment, she helped them first. I mentioned understanding that they had bookings of their own, like us, and that we all had confirmations so I didn’t understand why she didn’t give their rooms to us. I suggested that, it being first come, first serve, she should help us first. I also told her it would be a lot easier to relocate 2x2 guests (to two different hotels), instead of finding us another hotel (as we were a party of 4). Finally, most of us are raised with the notion of courtesy towards the elderly and the handicapped, which made me understand her prioritization even less. She answered these were her bosses orders. I asked to speak to her boss, which she refused. I insisted, but no assistance was to be expected from her. I spent 1,5-2 hours waiting at the d
