We stayed three nights at the Mountain View Cottages. The room itself was sparse but clean and it was located on the first floor. This gave us a great place to look over the river and to the mountains. If you are lucky you can see and more often hear gibbons. Yosh and his mother were very kind people and tried to make us comfortable as possible. Reagrdless what time of the day it actually was. A great experience was the cooking course arranged at the cottage. The local lady Vita brought along whatever ingredients were required. She made us help to bring it all into a three course meal and everything was very tasty. Excursions can be done as well into the surroundigs. We did some small jungle trekking and did some peacefull tubing on the river. Rita & Franz Josef (Germany)

Amazing place in the middle of the jungle! Take the stairs down to the river for a swimming or just relax with the jungle view. The room was basic, no warm water, but with air conditioning. So do not expect luxury, but the location in the jungle and the friendly staff are worth it! We took a tour through the jungle to watch monkeys and see the elephants with a very kind guide. I would recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay here for three nights. Great little bungalows in a manicured garden just next to a picturesque wooden restaurant area with great views overlooking the jungle and river. Adil went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The river was just a short walk away and it's a great starting point for river tubing and jungle trekking. There are good restaurants nearby and the village is just down the road.

Magnifique endroit en bord de rivière, dans laquelle nous pouvons se rafraîchir et observer les singes ! Un paradis. Les propriétaires sont incroyables, gentils, très serviables et la femme est une cuisinière hors pair. Nous avons privilégié cette option au calme et plus sauvage que dans le parc et sommes allés voir les orangs outans une journée. Le resort peut organiser le transport.

Wer hat die Natur liebt, Ruhe und ein authentisches Indonesien, Gastfreundschaft und leckeres lokales Essen, der ist hier genau richtig.👍😊 Die Mountain view cottage Lodges liegt direkt am Gunung Leuser Nationalpark nur von einem kleinen Flus getrennt, in welchem man sehr schön baden kann. Für mich war es schon der zweite Aufenthalt im Tangkahan in dieser Lodge und wieder war es unbeschreiblich schön.... Unser Tourguide Ramlan, welcher nicht nur perfekt Deutsch spricht, sondern auch ein ausgesprochen freundlicher und liebenswerter Mensch ist, hat auch diesmal meine 2 wöchige Rundreise auf Sumatra organisiert. In Tangkahan gibt es die Möglichkeit mit Elefanten zu baden, direkt in den Dschungel zu starten, Wasserfälle und heisse Quellen zu besichtigen, Tubingtouren und an Baumpflanzaktionen zum Erhalt des Regenwaldes teilzunehmen. Ein besonderes Erlebnis war es für mich ,wilde Elefanten in freier Natur zu beobachten... Absolut empfehlenswert!!!

Wir hatten eine Rundreise mit Ramlan Depary Adventures gebucht (top) und hatten hier unsere erste Unterkunft. Die Lage ist einzigartig mit Blick auf den Dschungel vom Zimmer und beim Frühstück/Abendessen. Die freundliche Atmosphäre und das gemeinsame musizieren mit Gitarrenbegleitung am Abend waren einzigartig. Wir blieben 3 Nächte und hatten am ersten Tag ein Dschungeltrekking mit Bim und Ramlan und hatten Glück, auf eine Orang Utah Familie und die Elefanten beim Spaziergang zu treffen. Am zweiten Tag hatten wir Tubing und nachmittags Elefantenwaschen, was uns Beides viel Spaß gemacht hat. Gerne wären wir noch länger geblieben aber die Rundreise ging natürlich weiter. Wir möchten uns noch einmal ganz besonders auch bei Bim bedanken für die tolle Tourbegleitung.
