Ba Be Lake View Homestay

Ba Be Lake View Homestay was our first destination after we arrived in Vietnam. We arrived at the Ba Be Lake jetty just as it was getting dark and crossed the lake in a boat where the owner transported us by motorbike the 1500m to the homestay. I think the building consists of about 6 floors, once you have climbed about 50 steps to get there, but the view from our bedroom was well worth it. The room was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning which was not necessary at this time of the year, Indeed it was rather cold. I cannot remember the name of the owner but he offered us "happy water " after our meal (rice wine). There are not really any restaurants in the village so we ordered vegetarian meals and our breakfasts there. The veggie meals consisted of about 5 different plates of food and was more than enough for the two of us. Breakfast was also good and both were economic. The owner's wife, Lyn , i believe spoke better English and was extremely friendly, making us feel a part of the family. She also arranged onward travel to Cao Bang for us. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I had 3 amazing days at Ba Be National Park. You can go around yourself but I do recommend to go with a local guide. I booked a all included package with the homestay and had nothing to worry. Very enjoy the trip.

In short- this place is amazing! For me, the value of the services provided was outstanding. I did a 3D/2N tour with this as my home base and enjoyed it so much I added an extra night. Fabulous homestay with comfortable rooms, excellent food, and amazing relaxation and sunset viewing spaces. Ba Be Lake is so beautiful and has so much to offer. Definitely check out the multi-day tour options on their website! The host couple is very helpful and accommodating.

We book a 3D2N package with the homestay for last weekend. The food at the homestay is very, very tasty, among the best food we have had in Vietnam. The view from the homestay to the lake is amazing. All activies were well organized with friendly local guide. This was one of the highlights of our four week Vietnam trip, highly recommended!
