Machaan Wilderness Lodge Nagarahole

One of the best vacations I have had so far. We (myself, wife and 2 kids) visited during the end of the March 2025. Everyone of us enjoyed the stay so much. Location and access to the safari: Great location right next to the nagarhole tiger reserve. Machaan has dedicated slots in the Nagarhole safari. So, booking for the safari was easy. Setup in the midst of the lush green forest and coffee plantations, the scenery throughout the property is breathtaking. Facilities: All the facilities that you will ever require is available in the room. The room was big, comfortable, cozy and clean. The jacuzzi was enjoyed by kids a lot. Myself and my wife enjoyed wonderful massages in the spa. The staff were all so kind and so mindful of our needs that they correctly suggested to us to convert the sofa in our room to a bed since the main bed might not fit 4 of us. Food: This is the first time I really enjoyed resort food. Typically the resort foods are just average and lack authenticity. But the food at Machaan (even though limited for us as vegetarians) was some of the most authentic foods that I have ever had and I am not even exaggerating. The vegetables tasted so fresh and the taste of each item was just perfect without resorting to too much of oil and salt. Nature walk and Bird watching: This is probably the best part of the Machaan stay. Mr. Peter (for bird watching) and Mr.Shreyas (for Nature walk) were simply amazing with their love for the nature and took great pleasure in educating us about every bird, animal, tree and plant. We were so enthralled by their passion in explaining the nature that we didn't even care about the minor inconveniences of mosquitoes during the walk. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort for anyone wishing to go to nagarhole tiger reserve and who love to listen to naturalists passionately talk about flora and fauna of the area. PS: One request/suggestion (which I had shared with Mr.Shreyas as well) was to place a telescope which would help the guests to watch the celestial bodies in the beautiful night sky.

Machaan wilderness lodge is the Gem of Nagarhole. When you arrived you are received by passionate people like Mr Shreyas and Mr Peter who share their passion for nature, environment, Bird and wildlife sighting. We stayed 2 days and it need more to feel the opulence nature vibration around you. This is a must go, go to safari, take it easy, and feel you reached the end of the mad world to enter the beginning of the second largest eco system diversity in the world after the amazon. Resort is nicely tucked away closer to the junge... well appointed rooms and cottages. Food was very good and great service overall. Goutam, the naturalist was very good, very well informed. Bird watching and Nocturnal walk was really good. They arrange for Safari as well. Great place to wind down....

The 30 acre property provides the serenest and the most beautiful experience. I visited it as a solo traveller to relax and rejuvenate very recently and it did that beautifully . The rooms and the property are gorgeous . But what sets it apart is the hospitality and knowledge of the staff . The spa team is V caring n offer a really good experience and the restaurant chefs n team are too and the food excellent . The naturalists are exceptional , they really give their heart to the nature walks , Shreyas and Peter I m very thankful to . Gowtham , the naturalist , his hospitality was to be really great ful for . Every moment extremely kind , helpful and knowledgeable .the experience of Nagarahole n the forest made even richer cause of it . A definite go again for me and for any one who wants to soak in nature , learn about the animals , birds & reptiles of Nagarhole at the same time. A big thank you to the Machaan team and yes the tiger sighting , the nature walks with various frogs , reptiles n other nocturnal animals n the birding (more than 30 species I saw ) were the most memorable parts of this get away .

Our family of four had an incredible 3-day getaway at Machaan Wilderness Lodge, Nagarahole. The 5-hour drive from Bangalore was smooth, especially the Bangalore-Mysore stretch, which made the journey pleasant. The resort is a serene sanctuary, offering an escape into nature. We stayed in the luxury tent, which was both quiet and opulent—although a warm-water jacuzzi would have been a welcome addition. The food was delightful, and the standout feature was the staff. Their warmth, attentiveness, and willingness to accommodate special requests made our stay extra special. Morning nature walks and nocturnal ones were mesmerizing and a unique way to explore the wilderness. A special thanks to Gowtham, who was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our family had a memorable experience. We can’t wait to return!

We stayed here as part of of our tour around South India, and I must say it was one of the highlights. We stayed in one of there yerts which was fantastic, the only downside was that after our first day we were joined on the resort by a school trip which got quite noisy at times.
