Start to the end my family and I had amazing experience. To start with the Staff were great. Waithera was efficient she really helped me when I was booking the hotel by timely responding to my emails and she explained why I should specifically visit Lake Nakuru and am glad we did. On our game drive we saw both black and white Rhinos among other animals . Our son really enjoyed the Horse riding. In the night we could hear the Lions roar . The back of our room was a big glass sliding doors which during the day you could open and sit outside as you watch animals . There was many tasty food choices on offer. The fact that the hotel is located in the park made it all for us. The main Bar and the Swimming pool were the best coz they face the park so you could see animals as you chill. If you want out of the city hassle this is a must place for you.

Outstanding
SSaleem CLocated about 7 kilometers in from the Lanet gate entrance, and scenically close to the Lake. The view from just outside the rooms and in some cases inside the room is great as you can see the lake. Was there with the family in August 2024 and right from check in we felt welcome. The rooms were allocated quickly and were clean neat and tidy. Both the gent and the ladies at the reception were very good and helpful. (Apologies didn't get the names) The food was excellent as at all Sarova properties, the pool although the weather was cold was clean and well kept. The cold didn't stop us from going in for a dip:-) An added plus to the hotel was that they feed birds in the morning and at lunch time so you do get to see a variety of birds at close quarters. The lodge is very strategically located on a hill and game drives are enjoyable. We saw lots of game and knew we had a great place to come back to. Cleaning up of the rooms was fast and efficient and we never once saw housekeeping and would almost always come back to a clean room. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and engaged us in conversation at mealtimes. Notable mentions include Job at the front desk and Oscar the chef, who would always be on hand at meal times making lovely suggestions. Overall the lodge is a great place to be, very good value for money. My only suggestions would be to have fridges in the room and Muslim showers in the loo :-) They had a working safe in the room and plenty of umbrellas as we did get some rain during our stay. Of course the toiletries, towels etc were all available. The beds were also quite firm and comfy and we slept great throughout our stay. Would not hesitate to visit this place again and am planning on doing so again over Easter. Kudos Sarova and all the staff at Lion Hill, spectacularly good experience. Keep it Up!!!!

SStanley TThis is the second time I have been to this hidden gem on the outskirts of Nakuru CBD. First time I experienced it was with a few friends in Nov 2022 and it was epic! This time was a business trip and the experience was just as pleasant as the last time. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, always eager to go the extra mile. The rooms are cosy; the bed, bed sheets and pillows are very comfortable, you will struggle to wake up after a good night's rest. The food is a la carte, very fresh, tasty and with a wide variety and generous portions. It was raining most of the times during my stay but there were umbrellas everywhere, from the restaurant, reception or the rooms, to aid one get to their room or car. The drainage was excellent, hardly any pools despite the heavy rains. Next time you're in Nakuru and want an experience of a home away from home, this is a good bet, you will not be disappointed!

GGuest UserUndoubtedly the view from the hotel room looking down to the the town and the L.Nakuru is spectacular! I give four stars for that - Location, the cleanliness of the rooms, the food and the view. I received a warm welcome at the gate and reception, its quite unfortunate they did not escort me to my room and demonstrate the basic orientation of the room. I was handed my key card and told where to go, carrying my own luggage. The room was clean, has a balcony, though I had to call to ask for table and chair to be set there. I had a challenge with the TV and had to call reception a couple of times before the sent someone up. My door ( I came to realize the 2nd day) had a problem with the lock. Once again after calling a couple of times and waiting I gave up and as I was leaving the person was outside, after inquiring, he tells me he is there to fix the door. I would have appreciated a courtesy knock, to let me know he had reached. Internet connectivity is good and stable, though cuts up at some parts within the hotel. Better communication between your departments and update the client so they stay informed and valued. I appreciate that the hotel was quite and serene.

Ee04063986Pros: The room is very clean and the waiters are very welcoming. The security in the hotel is very good. There are security guards on duty at the entrance of the two buildings for 24 hours. But the street is not necessarily safe. Buy something in a small shop nearby. The security guard will accompany you with great enthusiasm. The network speed is about 200k/s, and the signal strength is OK. Breakfast is very rich. Disadvantages: The hotel is old, with two new and old buildings, but they are almost ten years old, just across the street. The room is small, there is no desk to work, but the hall is very spacious, so many tables are free to use.
