This is the most worry-free place because there are no shops and restaurants near these hot springs. This hotel has a hot spring private soup and delicious breakfast and dinner. You can stay here quietly for a few days, all in all very good, will come next time
This hot spring inn was renovated 10 years ago. There are 3 baths, the best being the open-air bath by the river. The service was very polite. No complaints.
Toshimaya is really great! The overall experience is super good!
I chose a room with a creek next to it. It’s really comfortable to soak in the hot springs in the room and listen to the sound of the creek.
The service is super good and very clean,
Breakfast is delicious!
Will be back again!

GGuest UserA very nice hotel, with few people and very quiet, suitable for self-cultivation, but the facilities are a bit old but it does not affect the use. The service staff inside introduced each floor enthusiastically. I was unable to make a reservation for breakfast in the morning and had to walk more than 10 minutes to eat there.
Overall, the hot spring is very comfortable and clean.
GGuest UserWe stayed here during a two-day ski trip. I found this inn very appealing, especially since I had never seen it on social media. There are only a few rooms, so it was quiet and very comfortable. We were worried about which one to choose, but we stayed at ”Kiri,” which has an open-air bath in the room, and it was better than we expected, so we took a bath five times (lol). We'll definitely come back here again! We've been saying that ever since we got back. However, we didn't get a plan that included dinner, so we were hoping to eat at a nearby restaurant, but all the restaurants closed early, so we were left without food, which was a bit of a downside^^; Next time we stay, we'll make sure to make a reservation for meals!! The inn itself was really nice and the best. Thank you for your hospitality.
Yymd1We had a wonderful stay! We especially liked the location - walking distance to small downtown Shima, yet far enough to have less tourists walking around. The hot springs were great, food was delicious (especially if you want to try authentic local Gunma prefecture cuisine - might not be best for children), and the nightly traditional paper story telling was also great. We took a train + bus ride from Tokyo and the local bus (40min ride) from Nakanojyo station stops right in front of the hotel. We will come back again for sure!
AAlc101Absolutely beautiful location and multiple hot spring options! The buffet breakfast was exquisite as well ask the multi-course dinner. Sadly we only were able to stay one night but waking up in morning to see beautiful flurries of snow surrounded by mountains was much more magical and memorable than I imagined! During our stay, I even lost my camera and the staff were so kind to go down the mountain and mail it to me at the airport, speak Japanese to the staff at the airport to help me find it and I am forever grateful for their kindness and service. If I lost my camera I would’ve lost all my photos and videos of the trip! The staff speak Chinese and fluent English and so it was really easy to communicate with them. Will definitely come back!! Thank you Shima Tamura!
GGuest UserBooked the Japanese style room with toilet. Shower room has to be shared on the 2nd floor. Room has no amenities at all. Basic hair dryer and hot flask are in the communal area. We had to set up the bed ourselves. Room was dusty and was freezing cold even tho there was heater from the air con on winter’s night. There’s instructions to learn how to kill the stink bugs. The hotel facilities are good but the overall experience wasn’t good.
