Ulwazi is one of those places you never want to leave. The hospitality is top-notch and everyone there is accommodating and kind from Simon and Alice to Eric. I enjoyed my stay here and was absolutely impressed with how they handle the Covid-19 protocol. I would recommend the place to anyone on a business trip to Nairobi or just a staycation.

It feels very good. The hotel has Chinese food. The hotel staff and hotel managers are very friendly and attentive. There are shopping malls near the hotel, a few minutes’ drive away, and shopping is also convenient. After staying there for a week, the hotel can rent a car and it is safe to go out. There, I ran out of money, the hotel manager was a Chinese, and he also helped to accept the domestic WeChat exchange of RMB for US dollars. It was almost a sense of seeing a fellow countryman. Very grateful for the hotel's help, very humane. Will stay there next time I go.

The breakfast buffet had an excellent array of choices and everything on offer was enjoyable. The staff was helpful and courteous. The security process and security doors and card access only areas seemed a bit over the top but we did indeed feel secure. We enjoyed a delicious Christmas Eve dinner on the top floor of the hotel. It was a memorable experience. My only complaint is that though I had the air conditioning on and temperature set to cool the room a bit, the unit was running during our two day stay and never cooled the room or reached the temperature chosen. Also the in room phone did not work. I did request a maintenance person come to check on both f these issues and no one ever came. The bed was very comfortable and the modern style of the room was nice.

There is no Chinese service, the waiter is very enthusiastic and attentive. After staying for a few days, we are the two Chinese, and they respect the Chinese. I booked a 1 room unit (near parking/reception) for a 5 night stay at Woodmere. I had second thoughts when a woman in the opposite unit endlessly ranted and shouted till around midnight. I reported this occurrence as it was impacting my stay. For the next 4 nights l was moved to a suite overlooking the swimming pool - a much nicer, more comfortable and spacious apartment with a balcony - without any extra charge being incurred. I extended my stay a further 2 nights when offered the reduced rate of $100 US for the extra 2 nights. I had a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
