The hotel is located in downtown Nairobi, surrounded by wholesale shoe and clothing vendors, making it feel like stepping back into 1980s China. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is a limited buffet, and the front desk staff is very welcoming. On my first stay, I forgot my power adapter, but two days later, the front desk had already put it away for me. Great! Downsides: The lobby is on the second floor, with a small door on the first floor that's hard to find without careful observation. The restaurant is on the third floor. There's no elevator, so staying on the fifth floor means you'll have to drag your luggage up to the eighth floor. The room amenities are dated, and rooms with windows facing the street are incredibly noisy. The honking of cars and motorcycles early in the morning makes it impossible to sleep in. It's fine for a single or double stay, but if you're a couple or traveling with a family, consider choosing a different hotel.

This was my second time staying here. The staff are cheerful and kind. It is a little inconvenient that there is no hair dryer or kettle.
The restaurant in the hotel is delicious. It doesn't have the smell that I've had in restaurants in town, so I think it suits Japanese people. I had bean stew and coleslaw.

Good, Safe, budget hotel for tourists of all kind. Restaurant is good with reasonable price. There are plenty of shops for all kind of items around. River Road is nowadays quiet safe compared to 90's. I stayed here in 2024 & 2025. No issues of any kind, with the price they offer it is not a bad choice. In fact, due to some political agitation on nearby streets in June 2025, after returning from Masai Mara, I could not check in for one day, but they gave me the room the second day without any extra charges.

Cleans rooms, but the beddings are old and torn. The overall ambience of the rooms is okay. Curtains are dusty, blanket and pillow smell aweful and stuffy. The staff are generally freindly and helpful.

It was an average hotel in a very busy and crowded location. Staffs are good and very helpful. Mr. Luke is exceptionally good and always checked with me if I need anything and my stay with them is comfortable. They have a decent restaurant that serve international foods and drinks. Breakfast is simple and adequate.

Came here for a 1-night transit as part of my safari tour. Simple budget accommodation on a busy street in the city. Didn't venture out as not sure if it is safe, but luckily hotel restaurant on the 2nd floor is very good! Do get a window seat, have a tusker beer and enjoy your dinner while you overlook the street downstairs.. lots of street stalls and many locals walking around.
