Pearl Palace Hotel

I went there with my colleague for a business trip and we went there by taxi from the airport. Although the taxi driver charged us much more than we thought, I would say this hotel is a Chinese friendly hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, and the workers there are very friendly to us. A young girl (can not remember her name, sorry) helped with with Uber, and also with money exchange into small amount changes. You can order take-out there if you have the app, and the charges can be paid online or by cash, which is very conveniant. You can find the pictures of the hotel below, and these are the real pictures taken with my mobile phone.
The Concord Hotel & Suites

Overall it was ok. Pros, good location, the staff are friendly and the room is decent. Cons, the reception is inefficient and check in takes longer than it should. It’s like we are first customer that has ever checked in. Lots of confusion. My ac did not work. I had to call 3 times to reception before someone turned up. They said the ac does not work here. Did not bother to check anything because it seem normal for the ac not to work. I told him it’s very hot in this room and I can’t sleep. Also ac is basic especially if you are calling yourself a 5 star hotel. He shrugged and said I can get you a fan. Got very little sleep and I think they don’t service the ac to save on electricity. It’s a poor attitude from the management especially for a “5 Star” hotel. It’s more like a 3 star. Better places to go for the same price. Will not return.
The Landmark Suites

I was lucky to get a big suite room, more space than needed. That said I think this would apply to any guest. My room had ample hot water. There was a big TV. Internet worked well - the room had its own wifi. I would say that the design/layout might be improved, maybe this was just mine but the closet was in the hall in one case, it would have been more accessible in the bedroom. That said, most of the furniture was good. Breakfast was great, and very complete. The regular breakfast has cereal, juice, coffee, toast, bacon & egg available, fruit. You won't go hungry, and it's included. I also highly recommend the ”Indian Breakfast” (aloo paratha option, also included) which was just so delicious with coffee, especially if you like things on the spicy side. For dinner, I would go with the staff recommendation, I had Chicken Mughlai that had a very nice sauce. One thing that stood out were the staff. Janet and Sharon were just so helpful with any little detail. It is worth asking them for help with anything because they really want to assist.

Khweza Bed and Breakfast

Khweza is a great budget hotel in Nairobi's city center. Staff are super friendly and helpful. One staff even used their own Mpesa to get us train tickets since we didn't have access. Really great. The rooftop is wonderful & a huge selling point. Bed and shower was good. Everything was clean. Food was okay, took a bit long to serve even when you order breakfast the night before. Lobby is welcoming. We stayed for six days and went on a 3-day safari, day trips, etc. and all our stuff stayed safe. Had we slept there the whole time, we probably would have switched rooms from the front to the back, as the front rooms are a bit loud at night with trucks going by. But otherwise, very good. We'd go back if we were again looking for a clean, friendly budget stay in Nairobi.
