The inn is just beside Togakushi Chusha. It’s a really authentic Japan style inn and I like the public bath it’s spotless even it’s just both of us staying in that day. Both of the meal is super nice and warmly, me and my boyfriend enjoyed them so much! Owner is super helpful and kind to drop us at Osha, we really appreciate that! Strongly recommend and hope to stay again!

Our stay at Shukubo Gokui was incredible. So much history and spirit, and although we spoke very little Japanese we were greeted warmly by the family. Every breakfast and dinner served was so thoughtfully presented and delicious. The onsite bath is very clean and almost like a private onsen. The room was warm and comfortable, and it was magical to be in the space with the winter snow piling outside. The location cannot be any better, very near the beautiful Chusha Shrine, on the path to the other shrines in Togakushi, within walking distance to the town Onsen and ski resort, and probably one of the closest lodgings to the bus stop. The original structure is from 1815 with thoughtful updates to make the space comfortable and warm. That foreigners and visitors are allowed to stay at Shokubo Gokui that has been so thoughtfully cared for by the family for years is incredibly special, an experience we will remember for a long time. I hope we can return again.

People will probably either love or hate the atmosphere, but those who like it will find it irresistible. The facilities and amenities are simple. It seems to have been renovated, as the rooms, baths, and toilets are all very clean. Above all, all the food is delicious. I'll definitely visit again.

This restaurant in the mountains is relatively large, family-style, and the food is pretty good.

The building has a thatched roof and was built in 1815. It has thick beams, a keyaki floor, and jazz music playing, which I think is the owner's hobby. I really liked the tatami room, which I hadn't seen in a long time. The food was light and flavorful, including tempura cherries, yuba, vinegared chrysanthemum dish, and soba noodles, which soothed my body after the marathon. The soba noodles were fresh, with a good aroma, texture, and smooth throat feel, and I could have eaten them alone for hours. Unfortunately it was raining, but I'd like to go again.

Overall, it's great. The bathrooms are unique. After all, it's a 200-year-old house. I met the boss who was a racing driver when he was young and was very energetic.

I really liked this inn, so this is my 4th repeater. I brought my mother this time because it's right next to Togakushi Shrine and the food is delicious. The evening meal was very delicious, but the breakfast was not as good as it used to be. Also, the room was on the second floor and the stairs were steep, so it wasn't very good for my mother.
