Horizon at 77th

Pros: My stay at Horizon at 77th - Unit 206 was overall pleasant. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, dishes, and pots and pans—everything needed to cook a meal. The balcony was also roomy and offered a decent view. While the greenery has grown more than shown in the pictures, slightly limiting the view, it was still enjoyable. The bathrooms were nicely updated with plenty of space. We forgot a fan for my son to sleep with at night but there are fans provided in both rooms which was very nice as bedtime can be a challenge. Cons: The beds were uncomfortably firm, making it difficult for me to get restful sleep. I know it is hard to please everyone when it comes to beds, but these beds hurt me. Another issue was the refrigerator—I found it already running with the ice tray full, even though guests were given instructions to turn it on upon arrival and empty the tray upon departure. Additionally, I found a half-eaten bag of Doritos and a pistachio shell in the chairs by the balcony, which made me question the thoroughness of the cleaning. The biggest disappointment was the pools. They were so cold that my 12-year-old son couldn’t swim in them at all. Despite voicing my concerns several times to staff, nothing was done. With the was this hotel is turned and shaped, the sun only hit the outside pool on one occasion during the day. Obviously, the inside pool did not get any sunlight. Unfortunately, this left him with no choice but to sit in the hot tub with adults, which was far from ideal for a child.

Really nice place to stay with a family. Its clean and walking distance to the beach. Will recommend.

This is overall a nice resort in a quieter part of Myrtle Beach. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the until upon arrival. The for was so dirty that it turned the bottom of feet black within an hour. The stovetop was filthy with stuff burnt on the burners that I had to clean before I could use the cooktop. There was something gritty all over the countertop that I had to clean. Half used rolls of toilet paper and paper towels were left for our use, which I trashed. The pull out sofa was awful. It barely had any cushion left on the mattress. The beds were ok. The second bedroom was supposed to have two beds in it and it had a king size instead and I was told there were no other rooms available. I booked a room that had those two beds because of other family that was also coming. I had to pay a $120 cleaning fee with my reservation and an amenity fee and didn't get use any of those because it was too cool for the outdoor pools and the indoor pool and Jacuzzi were shut down for maintenance the while five days we were there.

The property is owned by two different entities therefore the consumer is caught in the middle and is told we don’t do that call them oh call them we don’t do that scenario very confusing. The appliances were aged and the sofa was very used and lumpy. The indoor pool was closed and no one notified the guests who were arriving to ask if they wanted to cancel their room and book somewhere else not courtesy of any kind was given.

We stayed in a room with a partial beach view. The parking garage was low (we had a truck) and you parked near the elevator that took you to your room area. The resort is in a nice neighborhood and we took a short walk from the garage to the beach, it is a nice stretch of beach. I felt the room could have been furnished better, the layout was very cramped. The kitchen had most ammenities, however the stove dial were worn off. The bathroom fixtures were lower than normal height. They could use some updating. The washer/dryer unit was very loud. The bed was comfortable. The room temp. fluxuated because of the large windows and sliding doors. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
