My wife and I are mature (maybe aged is more appropriate) snowboarders and this is our second season in The Address Akakura. Our stay on both occasions has been 5 weeks from late January to early March, so we really get to experience all Myoko and the accommodation has to offer. The hotel has changed ownership since last visit but from our perspective most facets remain unchanged. The apartment-style rooms are still excellent with functional kitchens, comfy beds and ensuite style bathrooms. As long stay customers the kitchen was particularly important to us. The restaurant/ bar downstairs as well as a cafe on property is very welcomed and the on-site onsens are amazing. The owner John, was always very helpful and most supportive of all our needs including taking us grocery shopping when required. The staff were all great and it was very easy for us to become part of this new family. Although all the staff were very good some deserve special mention. Sammi (who we met last year)continued to be a special friend and we had lots of chats and laughs again this year. Naniko also was very helpful and supportive of our requirements. However of all the staff, Miho was simply outstanding. Her customer service was unbeatable and throughout our 5 weeks she continuously went beyond what was expected. Whether it was assisting us with bookings, on line orders, helping fix a damaged Ski Jacket or arranging luggage transfers nothing was too onerous. Thank you Miho you were fantastic. John, although the snow this season was the worst we have experienced in 18 years of coming to Japan, you and your staff ensured we had a most memorable stay and we look forward to returning again next year. Thank you!
