We came for a family wedding. Which was wonderful. Hotel immaculate rooms cleaned twice day. Staff almost overly attentive. Beautiful decor food excellent. Beach Pebbly and pool gorgeous but very poor access for people with a dissability to use the pool and beach and the local pavements poorly maintained. Hotel drinks very expensive as no all inclusive. But if you can afford to stay its a once in a life time experience.

I’ll cut to the chase. A horribly overpriced, maximum two-star hotel. Do not stay here. I’d wanted to visit Greece for decades and decided to finally book a trip for my birthday. I went with a friend and one of his friends recommended this hotel. The room was shockingly expensive but we booked last minute and thought that this would be a quality hotel with good service. Man, were we wrong about that. The room was basic, the bathroom dark and with a bit of mold. The night we checked in I mentioned to the staff member who showed us our room that the ceiling lamp in the hallway wasn’t working. He just ignored me and the bulb was never replaced. They insisted on serving the breakfast buffet (no self-service) supposedly because of corona but the real reason seemed to be giving you the minimum amount of food. I almost felt shamed asking for another piece of toast. The buffet was sp**** consisting mostly of one type of presliced meat and cheese, hard boiled eggs, croissants, some dried fruits, feta and some mostly-overripe watermelon and cantelope. Drinks were expensive; 15€ and up for a cocktail. We ordered two piña colada’s the day that we spent at the pool and they did not have alcohol. None. I mentioned it to the waiter and he argued with me saying that you can’t taste or feel the effects of alcohol in a frozen drink. They also tried to get me to sign for a check for six glasses of wine. We didn’t drink any wine. A few of the staff members were friendly, many were not. The cleaning ladies were very nice. Front desk service was practically non-existent. No schedules, no list of recommended restaurants or bars, and no maps to hand out (we had to take a photo of the one map they had). For the price we paid we could have stayed on the club floor of a Ritz Carlton and still had money left over. Avoid at all costs.

After a visit in 2008, we returned to the Elysium on honeymoon. The hotel is still beautiful. Very nice common spaces with a terrace, bar and swimming pool with fabulous views. Super friendly and efficient reception service.(We rent a car easily through the reception) Good breakfast (with COVID contingencies) Very friendly breakfast and pool bar staff However some disappointment in the room. Reasonable size, but in need of renovation quickly. Beds look like we are in a dormitory. Bathroom was tiny with a dangerous bathtub. It needs urgent renovation. The signs of time are evident One aspect that I think will be resolved.

The price is too high, the rooms are very basic, but we really enjoyed our stay! The staff here are amazing and they really make things enjoyable. The waitstaff/servers are the BEST. Dimitri, Tony and Panos work nonstop and really bend over backwards to take care of every guest, it was a complete pleasure to see them every day at breakfast, at the pool, and at the sunset parties. The front desk staff is excellent, Kostas was SO helpful, Thanos & Nikos were also great. The housekeeping staff are wonderful and the rooms are immaculate (the rooms are old and a bit run down but thats not the fault of the staff). we had a superior room with a nice outdoor patio, bed was comfortable. bathrooms are old and must be updated. The nightly sunset parties are GREAT!!! There is a rumor they might stop them, which would be a huge mistake: these really SET ELYSIUM APART from the other hotels. The female manager is not nice, she never says hello to guests and we watched her screaming at the staff for 10 minutes, she was very unprofessional. Overall we would come back again if they DON'T change things too much.
