I have stated in the title of this review that the accommodation is basic but I still rate it as five stars! Do not expect any but good, clean accommodation with a great location. We consider accommodation to be somewhere were you can rest your head and wash the dust of the day off - no more, no less. So if you do book at Peter's Studios do not expect great luxury but you will get great quality with very good service for your money. The location is one of the best aspects of staying here. It is between two beaches, on a neck of land that connects the main body of the island to a 'hammerhead' of land. The geography of this location makes for two lovely bays with the northern one (Korfos) being a little windier than the other, hence it being popular with windsurfers. The bay to the south of the accommodation (Ornos beach) is more set up for the sun worshippers amongst us as it has sun beds stretching for many metres along the beach and all of them, seemingly, set up by the bars and restaurants that back the beach. If you do occupy some of the sun beds expect to have to purchase your, not inexpensive, drinks from the bar they are 'connected' with. Anyway, back to the accommodation! The room we occupied had everything you would want; fridge, kettle, adequate storage, en suite bathroom, safe, air conditioning as well as the necessary furniture (see photographs). If residents want to cook anything then they have to make do with two hot plates but there are plenty of pans. It is worth mentioning that the air con and the safe did not cost any extra but there is an additional tax payable to the proprietor on arrival. This tax has been levied by the Greek government and the proprietor has to collect it; travellers should have been made aware of this at the time of booking. The cost is, for 1 - 2 star accommodation, 0.50 euros per room per night and for 3 star, 1.50 euros and it has to be paid in cash. As I have said the accommodation was very clean and tidy and clean laundry is readily available, usually daily. There are restaurants in the immediate area but they are limited in number as the area is still trying to recover from the global pandemic and, some that used to be open pre-pandemic, have now had to close. However, there are a couple of excellent bakeries situated on the junction just up the road. A word of warning here, we dubbed this junction as 'kamikaze corner' as the drivers do not seem to heed any road signs and there do not seem to be any road markings either! Having said that we did not see any accidents but trying to cross the road is an 'interesting' experience! The bus stop for journeys into Mykonos Town is also located on the junction so there are plenty of things to keep your interest whilst you wait for the bus. Finally the host, Peter, is a very friendly, warm and accommodating host and will try to assist with any queries you might have. We would definitely return to stay at Peter's Studios if we are ever in Mykonos again.
