The hotel is in very good location with convenient surroundings, like the Turkish canteen and shops. The staffs in hotel are very nice. Thuraiya helps us with ordering Omantaxi due to our phones does not work.

This is my second visit to Muscat and I was impressed by the pool, which is over 100m long. The pool is truly gorgeous! Since August is the low season, there are not many guests at the hotel and you can swim in the pool alone, as if it were your own private pool! In fact, there are 3 pools. So you can choose the one that suits your taste. Perhaps, swimming in the Gulf of Oman did not impress me much. Let's just say that there are better seas. But, on the other hand, there is always such a small percentage of vacationers who want to swim in the sea that most people just need to go in, jump in the waves and get out. In terms of enjoying the beach, the experience here is 100% positive. The service on the beach is excellent! They constantly bring ice water with lemon and mint, offer refreshing napkins, and treat you to fruits. The hotel is designed in a traditional Arabic style and fully meets the idea of a luxurious holiday. The dark palette in the interiors emphasizes the architecture and gives a sense of sophistication. For guests who book villas, the Amouage bath line is offered. In simpler rooms - Аsqua di Parma, which is also not bad! As for the food, in my opinion, it is ordinary, without frills. I received undoubted aesthetic pleasure from staying in this beautiful place, but the hotel did not make any gastronomic impressions on me. At the same time, there are no complaints about the service. Everyone I dealt with - reception staff, beach staff, waiters are exceptionally friendly and responsive!

A great location with access to the mall. Rooms were clean and well lit. They allowed an early check-in, which was a good thing. But that's where the good things end. We faced a few issues during the stay, which I think was a disappointment
1. not enough car parking space for patrons. It's always full, and anybody can come and park .
2. Squeaky beds and not that great on sleep on felt uneven in a lot of places.
3. Service was not that great either. No iron box. Weight scale not working. Blow dryer not working.
took 3 calls for them to come replace them, and even that they did not get it right the first time
4. Gym felt claustrophobia and not easy to access without clear signs.
Definitely not a 5 star...maybe a 3 star
The attitude of service is very good, of course, I feel that in the Sultanate of Oman, the service is generally good.
The location is very good, very convenient, it should be regarded as the city center, you can walk to Grand Muscat mall, about 10 minutes.
The room can choose the apartment, the area is large.
We had booked a room for 2 nights with swimming pool view to finish our 15-day periphery in Oman. The young employee offered us a room with street view at our arrival. He was informed and this error was repaired immediately. Beautiful pool where you can really swimming, excellent breakfast, comfortable bedroom, beautiful beach nearby and excellent service of ”car Wash” at the nearby shell station to return our rent vehicles before returning to the grisall The hotel is a very nice hotel for the most important place to stay in the city.

Outstanding
Lluke_middlebrookStaying at the Shangri La Al Husn Muscat has been one of the highlights of our time in the Middle East.
We decided to go for my girlfriends birthday and the team worked exceptionally well with me to deliver a unforgettable experience.
Getting to the Shangri La was a bit of a challenge and taxis do not come cheap in Oman. Though it was not challenging I do wish there was a pickup/drop off option for the guests.
The inclusive breakfast was wonderful and ordering off the menu assured that everything you ordered stayed fresh. There was a mixup with our order due to a language barrier but the food was still phenomenal.
The in room breakfast and room service was a highlight as it allowed you to take full advantage of the room and with the inbuilt heaters in the dining table assured the food stayed hot. The value for money on in room dining was disappointing as an order of a burger and fries came with a small amount of fries, however that was fixed with our next order.
The afternoon tea was delicious, highlights being the fromage and watermelon and the scones. Each afternoon tea was different and kept the palate excited.
The happy hour beverages were also included and always came with a suprise canapé from the restaurant.
In terms of the staycation, it was perfect. The interior and exterior of the hotel is beautiful and the sound of the ocean left you relaxed for the stay.
I would like to raise that there was a lot of sealife by the beach which deterred us from swimming in the sea as we had heard a lot about the Omani coast and didn’t have much confidence in the beach patrol and lifeguards there. We noticed some playing on their phones but they were always happy to assist taking a picture for the two of us. I would suggest a more upfront approach when it comes to what you can expect in the sea there.
A visitors lounge was also available allowing you to take full opportunity of the facilities till you left for your next adventure.
MMisfitClean hotel. I was very tired from my late night flight, and when I got to the hotel, they gave me an early check-in. The food is delicious and the room is well kept. The bar on the ground floor is nice and happening. The spa is on site as well.
GGuest UserDisappointing week in a disappointing hotel. From the moment we landed in Oman, the intercontinental hotel was not helpful. When we asked for a taxi, they wouldn’t help us and we had to arrange ourselves. When we asked if we had a sea view, we were told “we had a partial sea view” which was actually a car park and a loud generator which rattled on all through the night. The generator was so loud we had to keep the balcony doors closed all the time. However, one night, even with the doors closed we were kept awake until 3am with loud bangs and clatters from hotel staff loading up vans with furniture after an event at the hotel. When we asked about booking the onsite restaurants, we were told they were all closed apart from the main one. Multiple times when we went to the main restaurant we were told it was too busy and we had to wait and come back later. When we did get into the restaurant, we often had to wait long times for food to be replaced or we given paper cups because they’d run out of glasses! When we tried to get the WiFi at the pool, there was none. When we tried to use the creams in the room, they’d run out. The staff were lovely and the food was nice but altogether, we didn’t feel looked after and definitely don’t feel this is a 5* hotel.
GGuest UserBeautifully designed property, new so everything is sparkling clean and it has been constructed to a very high standard. All the staff were really nice and friendly, the hotel was very quiet. It’s located on a quiet beach, with a nice promenade to walk/jog along and a few restaurants along there too. A couple of cons- our bath didn’t hold water so wasn’t useable (it was leaking water). While we are also completely aware that it is an important religious celebration, the pool area was basically a construction site the day before Ramadan while they drilled in decorations- this could have been done a bit more thoughtfully rather than with workmen there (and drilling) throughout the day.
KKarenI like this hotel that has a lot of good features. I booked on half board dinner is awful. It cost me 10 extra dollars to book dinner and breakfast and really the dinner wasn't worth the $5 if you divide the meals evenly. The fish was putrid and the selection was substandard. I did manage to get $5 worth of food out of the dinner buffet. I like eggplant luckily. The room's very nice they have two pools one for women only which I would never use and they don't sell alcohol here. Those are the bad points. The room isn't very good condition The housekeeper is a very nice man. The added benefit to staying in this hotel is that it does have one washer and one dryer and I have three loads of filthy clothes. I'm in the process of doing my last load currently. Another bad thing about this hotel is they block you from using the Wi-Fi the minute you step outside so you could use their overpriced taxis. You have to use the Wi-Fi from inside that way you can access your taxi apps and not use the overprice taxis here. The taxis are about 80% more. I would stay here again due to the low price of the bookingand the good condition of the room. Skip dinner there is a fantastic Turkish place in the nearest mall that's about an 8 minute walk..
GGuest UserI would give 10 starts to this hotel if I could. So clean, so new, everything is amazing. Workers are so nice and helpful. Steakhouse at the first floor is a cherry on the top.
Swimming pool and jacuzzi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
MMaria DivinaLocation is in a good neighborhood, you can cook and the room is spacious. Suitable for long stays. However for me, there are better hotels to stay at in the same price range. Encountered a problem multiple times with the door lock, overall it's ok. The wifi is also good.
BBlk_Abroad_BlessedNo true complaints that would be the fault of the establishment.
It was my Ramadan and def my fault for not doing more thorough research. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere or at least that’s how I felt. The food was pretty good though a bit pricey. Since it was Ramadan options were slim to none outside of the hotel during certain hours.
I will say the staff was very sweet and beyond kind. On our last morning we left the hotel around 5am. We were provided with a full, cooked to order breakfast and beverage to take away. What I thought would be a bagel and juice was a complete meal of eggs (cooked as requested), oats and fresh fruit and then some.
JJasonlee87The location is good, 15 minutes drive from the airport, there is a big shopping mall next to it, convenient for eating and traveling, free parking. The hotel is clean and tidy, and the service is very considerate.
GGuest UserThe hotel is 7 or 8 minutes walk from Qurum Beach, convenient to see the sea view, but there is no large business super nearby, restaurant. I am a girl, traveling alone, and the stay experience at this hotel is very poor. First of all, the taxi at the entrance of the hotel is the hotel's internal car team. The slaughter of passengers is serious and unreasonable. I took it once. The original fare of 5 rias was charged 10 rias. Finally, I took a more detour. When getting off the bus, the Arab driver shouted at me for 2 more riya, quite rude. When I left, I had to take a taxi to the airport and stopped a taxi at the door, but the uncle of the hotel taxi team called the other taxis and forced my luggage to his own trunk, not saying that they had to take the same price. I was angry, but they were unreasonable, and they argued with each other. I called the manager of the hotel, and the manager looked at it and then stood by! Secondly, during my stay, I was knocked on the door by a local drunk man in the next room. I later learned that this hotel has a bar, and the local wind is not good. I did see some local young ladies in and out of the evening dressed in cool clothes. . . The above wrote his own experience, hope to provide reference for the countrymen.
