Hotel Sa Pedra

We booked 2 nights with friends and we had a fantastic stay! Our room had a little balcony with view if the pool and the gardens, we had a little drying rack for our swimming costume to dry after a day at the beach. Immaculately clean, comfy beds and good cocktails! It is situated in a rd full of restaurants and the choices for dinner and gelato are endless. I would recommend and definitely come back!! Bit pricey but worth it!

The hotel is built like a Roman Villa. Our room was comfortable although the mattresses were very soft. There was a mini bar which had space for a pint of milk. The shower was good, but leaked after each use. The breakfast was ok, mix of continental items as well as scrambled egg and bacon. Not much choice for healthy options, but there was a good selection of fresh fruit. The staff were all friendly and helpful, in particular Judith on reception who gave us lots of helpful tips on getting around the island. If you are happy with spending every day at one beach situated about a mile from the hotel (there is a shuttle bus from the hotel) then you'll be fine here. However, if not, and you are not willing to hire a car, do not stay at Murta Maria. We hired a car after experiencing first hand the totally unreliable bus service. Driving in Sardinia was fine as the roads are pretty windy and narrow so speed isn't often fast. No-one seems to observe speed limits. There are plenty of options for day trips from Murta Maria. The town itself has many excellent restaurants/cafes/takeaways and all at very reasonable prices. A meal out including a bottle of wine for two costs around 48 euros. A pizza costs about 8 euros. I recommend organising your hire car to collect from the airport and drop off at the end. Be cautious on the level of cover you are offered. The hotel pool and grounds are really lovely. This hotel is like an oasis in many ways.

A lot of people use this as a stopgap in Sardinia as it’s just 10 minutes from the airport, and then move on. Being 10 minutes away you’d expect to hear planes all the time, infact quite the opposite, never heard much at all. The deluxe room was reasonably spacious, and came with air conditioning which worked and was quiet. We also had a private balcony to relax on. Food was very nice and well presented, with the service from the staff excellent. Breakfast was a buffet affair with choices of hot and cold food and cereals and fruit, plenty of tea and coffee. Both lunch and evening meal were a relaxed sit down 3 course meal, presented to high high standard, with vegetarian choices available. The swimming pool was clean and about 5ft deep in the main part, enough to stand in with you shoulders under the water (I’m 5’7”). There is also a bar around the pool which is chargeable to the room or to credit card. The grounds are spacious enough with loungers dotted about and trees or umbrellas to shade underneath. If you plan to stay as we did more than a day or so, consider a higher car as the local area doesn’t have a lot of local interest to see. Taxis are available of course. The hotel provides a free taxi to a beautiful local beach, this is very, very crowded, but if your up for the 20 minute walk the local beach is also very good, and as crowded, both with a small concession hut to sell you things. We had a great time and would recommend it to families, couples or just passing through.

Staff were helpful and kind. We felt very safe and at home. The restaurant is fantastic quality and the pool is beautiful. We have three young English children and they were very happy with the menu.

I agree with all the positive reviews previously submitted. This hotel is a family run and there attention to their clients is excellent whatever nationality. The hotel is situated in a quiet town which if you have done your research you would know this . This hotel and town is typically Italian it’s about good food beaches and being relaxed please note no English cafes or bars it’s not Benidorm. The hotel captures the best of Italy . The breakfast is excellent all as expected continental the pastries are home made i recommend the chocolate croissant it’s with real Nutella . Their bar is also first class with all food home grown which also serves the restaurant. The restaurant is as good as a high quality London restaurant but with reasonable prices don’t be put off by one of the reviews we are here a majority of the time . The other local restaurants were also great but the presentation and quality was better here , The beaches are beautiful with clear waters . There are 2 of which the hotel provides a shuttle bus but I Prefered the local one marina marina 15 min walk much calmer crystal waters and you could walk out a considerable distance before water would get deep .Even though my room had the worst view and near the lobby it was cleaned to a high standard the maids are excellent and guess what you get clean towels every day !,Thd air con is sufficient,I have paid more for a package holiday and this room Is still better than them . You must remember this is a typical Italian holiday most Italians travel here it’s not Spain . I must thank the staff and managers for a great stay

I stayed 1 night at Hotel Sa Pedra with a friend as it was close to Olbia airport for the flight the next morning and a good place to explore Murta Maria area. The hotel was good. Free parking outside. They initially accidently put us in a double bedroom when we requested two single beds, but they quickly corrected it and allocated us in a room with two single beds which was good. The pool was reasonably big and plenty of places to relax. Bathroom was spacious with nice smelling body wash and shampoo. The room was a little hot and stuffy. The breakfast buffet had a big selection, but the quality of the food wasn't that good, a lot of the food was packaged food and not freshly cooked or prepared by a chef, I have had better breakfast buffets in most other hotels. Overall, the hotel was good for a 1 night stay.
