We stayed here a couple of nights while going to a concert at Ironstone Amphitheater in Murphys. We had never visited the area before. First off, the owners are wonderful, kind, and cook the awesome breakfasts themselves! The location, view, amenities, and environment are all top notch and wonderful! If you are into tennis, the owners are retired tennis pros, and offer lesson games. They have two full size courts and this beautiful modern log cabin lodge on top of a hill with sweeping spectacular views of old natural California. They offer useful coupons to businesses in town with certain packages. This will be our go to Bed and Breakfast Inn in the foothills. This place rates with the best B&B's we have seen in Napa, Carmel, and the Mendocino Coast! Quite close to Calaveras Big Trees park as well. Thanks for a great stay, Chris and Larry!

Wonderful quiet and serene bed and breakfast inn located in California gold country. Just minutes from downtown Murphy’s where there are many shops and restaurants. Chris and Larry are very hospitable hosts paying attention to your comfort during your stay. There are 2 tennis courts, table tennis and many games that can keep you occupied when not exploring the local gold and wine country. Would definitely recommend you consider a stay when visiting this part of the state.

Everything was first rate; room, breakfast, helpful information, suggestions. It was hot this July but room temperature was well controlled and it was cool having coffee on patio in morning. My wife had an amazing massage she says. We took some beautiful hikes in the area that were great as long as we got done early enough to avoid heat of the day. Breakfasts were unique, interesting, and very good. Even had a charger for our EV.

This BnB is a Beautiful large house with 5 large suites, with great views of the surrounding forest. Beautifully decorated and very well appointed. Also includes 2 perfectly maintained tennis courts. It’s Owned and operated by 2 Tennis professionals. Chris is also a fantastic chief with formal culinary training. The downtown of Murphys is a 5 minute drive with lots of wine tasting and vineyards nearby. Best bnb I’ve ever stayed at.

In a world of bare bones airbnbs and run down hotels, Courtwood is a breath of fresh air. The hosts dote on you with homemade breakfast and desserts everyday. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The view of the back patio is beautiful. If I could offer any feedback it would be to provide a little bit more flexibility around breakfast times (you must choose 8:30, 8:45, or 9:00am and your seats are assigned)

We had a change of plans for our road trip and found this delightful B and B at the last minute. We were very pleasantly surprised; the property is beautiful architecturally, the hosts were really gracious and welcoming, and the breakfasts were wonderful. Murphy's is a little foodie haven with a bunch of local cellar doors open to the public, and historic goldrush era buildings in the surrounding villages. We didn't plan for tennis, but the hosts are both ex pros; so if tennis is your thing, then Coachwood would be a match made in heaven (ahem....)

Had a wonderful stay. We did not use enough of the court woods' amenities, but lovely view and lovely owners. Wish we had more time to play tennis while there, I cant imagine a more scenic spot.

We had a brief but lovely stay at CourtWood Inn while in Murphys for a concert. Chris and Larry are superb hosts - giving helpful tips about navigating the concert venue, providing a very comfortable stay and serving an absolutely delicious breakfast. The room (Australia) was great: great bed, roomy and well-equipped bathroom and really nice outdoor space with a view to the valley. When Ironwood Vineyards puts on a concert (with almost 7K attending!), cute little Murphys is bursting with people, so although we love staying "in town" it was really nice to be a very short (1.5 miles) way out of the hustle bustle.
