I have stayed in this hotel many times and I still like it very much. The hotel is very cozy, not very big, and parking at the door is very convenient. There is a swimming pool and a bath in the garden. Even if it is very cold in the morning in winter, you can still take a hot bath. The breakfast is very good, I like the breakfast here the most. It is suitable for you to drive here, otherwise it is not very convenient.

First off, this hotel is quite beautifully located and the grounds/pool are beautiful and picturesque. If you are spoiled like I am, you may be turned off by the fact that there is NO AC at this hotel (or any of the hotels in the area?). We were there in July when it was quite hot, but luckily our stay coincided with some rain that cooled things down. Our first night, we slept with the door open (with locking screen door), and it ended up being the most relaxing sleep during our whole trip! The breeze was perfect, so I didn't even miss the AC. While there were quite a few flies, the room was very clean. Please know that there are some rooms that are very upgraded like in the photos, and there are some that are outdated (like the one our friends got stuck with). I feel the difference in these rooms can really drive the experience one way or another. Fortunately, we had one of the upgraded rooms that connected to another upgraded room for our whole family. The balconies were an added bonus especially on a nice night when the moon was full and perfect. The bathrooms were meh with very high bathtubs (not convenient for seniors or toddlers). The hotel felt very kid-friendly with lots of space to run around, cute dinosaur slippers for our toddler, slippers for our bigger kids, and a very helpful staff. Also, there is a huge kids' activity play room downstairs! Seems like it was tucked away as there was never anybody there. Kept our two year old busy for hours. It was hard to get him to leave. Breakfast was fine, but in a nice setting.

Alpenhof is a nice enough hotel, but so many little things were off, there’s no way it can compare to other five star hotels in the Alps. Starting with the arrival by car - greeted by a phalanx of no stopping signs in the entrance, best just to drive directly into the parking garage and unpack there. The how-fast-can-I-say-my-greeting speech introduction to the hotel from the lady checking us in. The varying levels of maintenance on the walls, furniture etc (brown stain in the porcelain sink, mirror damaged, screen door opens and slams shut in the wind, random little hook sticking out of the wall in the hallway, …) Being woken on Sunday around 830 to what sounded like construction but turned out to be the maids pushing their trolleys across tiles in the hallway. The outlandish prices in the restaurant for food that was ok but nothing else (fish overcooked, portion tiny) A breakfast buffet with “everything” but not at a quality I’d expect of 5*. Seemed more like what you’d get if you did your shopping at Aldi, bread and cheese included (meaning not bad, but also not special) The narrow hallway connecting the spa with the outside pool with showers you may or may not find, where you can dry off after your shower as people press by you. That said there were also little gems. Some of the staff was very friendly (especially at the restaurant for breakfast but also some front desk staff too)! The outdoor and indoor pool were both nice. Eating breakfast in the gardens was lovely. And to be fair, those other 5* places cost a bunch more. So I guess it’s a mix of broken expectations caused by the rating, some unfriendly staff at the front desk (though there were really friendly ones there too!) plus a lack of attention to detail that I’d expect from 4* too that made this a disappointment in general.

enjoyed a few days when visiting Oberammergau Festival.... Rooms are ok, servicer and front desk super nice, helpful, thankyou. Maybe the dinner was a bit on the up-side pricewise.... But all in all enjoyed the stay. might be back, Rented an ebike and had fun, too.

Wonderful hotel in an absolutely beautiful environment! Lovely rooms, great wellness and pool areas and lots to do!! The food was fantastic as were the amazing cocktails at the friendly and cosy bar with fireplace! Felt very comfortable and welcome with our 3 kids. And what really stands out is the quality of the staff - extremely helpful and friendly and motivated. We had a fantastic time and hope to come back soon!

Nice hotel not far from Munich. Friendly staff and a very well-kept hotel complex. Unfortunately, the indoor pool area was a bit dull. The rest of the wellness area was good. The outdoor pool is great, although it is a bit difficult to get to. The food was good, but it was not worth the price. A bottle of water for the price of almost a crate is incredibly unpleasant. I am happy to pay for good things, but the food and drink here are extremely over the top. That is a shame and should be reconsidered. I also found the vending machine coffee unfortunate. It simply has no place in 5-star hotels.

The hotel has many advantages. Clean rooms, friendly staff, extensive breakfast buffet, good salad buffet in the evening, very, very nice pool and sauna area! Above all, spacious, modern and large. Unfortunately there are a few abera that do not meet the requirements for a 5 star rating. Hot dishes at breakfast are cold, buffet until 10:30, which is great, unfortunately they are not refilled and from 9:00 onwards it is already meager. Unfortunately that is not acceptable. The soft-boiled eggs are perfect, but ice cold. What is a no-go is paying 3.50 for tap water to accompany a bottle of wine. A 0.75 l mineral water 9.50!!! As much as I am sorry, these are the knock-out criteria for us not to come back. It is a very expensive wellness hotel and for me to be so petty does not fit into a 5 star philosophy. In general the food is good.

Very pleasant and stylish hotel. Attentive and never intrusive service, beautiful bar with great cocktails and an impressive wine list. The reception was professional and the breakfast buffet was outstanding. The salad and starter buffet could be a bit more extensive in the evening.

Extremely friendly, attentive staff. Huge garden where you can find a quiet spot in the shade under the trees. Large outdoor terrace with enough tables to eat comfortably under the large awning, protected from the rain. The food was excellent (we only used the restaurant once) and the wine list is more than extensive. Wines from all over the world are offered and the wine list in this house is a thick, extensive, heavy book. Unfortunately, the sauna area is not near the large outdoor swimming pool with the adjacent large whirlpool. The indoor pool is adjacent to the sauna area. If you want to use the outdoor pool (very well-tempered), you have to take the wrong path through many corridors. We stayed in the ground floor holiday apartment. However, we can't give it 5 * because it is very noisy. Unfortunately, the interior designer was not involved in the holiday apartment. It is a colorful mix of styles. The apartment. is fully furnished (complete kitchen with Nespresso machine, large bathing bag with bathrobe and slippers, soap, shampoo and cream dispenser ...). However, the washing machine and tumble dryer are in the large kitchen and this detracts from the coziness of the kitchen-diner with the old tiled stove and dining table. There would be enough space and the two large white electrical appliances could easily have disappeared into a built-in cupboard. The shower with shower curtain also does not suit a 5* house. Why wasn't a little investment in matching wall and floor tiles and a glass shower partition? With little effort and a bit of skill, the large holiday apartment (there are 3 bedrooms and a large bathroom and huge kitchen) could be made more comfortable and attractive so that the holiday apartment would match the hotel. The hotel deserves its stars, but the holiday apartment only gets 3 * from us.
