Manolo Hotel is clean, the staff are really pleasant. We booked late as we’re arriving from Murcia airport late. So they found us a parking space even though hotel was fully booked.

If you accept the fact that you will need to catch the bus to the port abd city centre then Hotel Manolo is a good value, clean and comfortable place to stay in Cartagena. It is either a 3km, 40 minute walk to the port or €1.20 on the number seven bus! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with air conditioning and a fridge (which is a bonus in a Spanish hotel). The staff were courteous and helpful and the menu del noche varied and good value (there were very few restaurants open on our first night which was a Monday). There is also a lovely Spanish tapas bar within five minutes walk from the hotel - El Paso de Los Elefantes. I would recommend Hotel Manolo and the tapas restaurant.

We had this Hotel booked for 6 days. Arriving at the Hotel gave us a huge shock. The clientele hanging around in the carpark and the outside of the hotel gave us great concern. After looking inside the hotel to witness the same people hanging around inside we cancelled our booking and left. The amount of young men hanging around made us feel unsafe

Está frase lo va a resumir todo, NOS FUIMOS UN DIA ANTES, porque nos sentimos inseguros en esa zona. El ambiente del hotel y sus alrededores no nos transmitieron sensación de seguridad, había grupos de personas que permanecían frecuentemente en la recepción y en el parking, lo que nos generó cierta inseguridad a la hora de entrar y salir, especialmente de noche. Este ambiente generó negativamente nuestra experiencia. La primera noche vimos a la policía pedir documentación a estas personas. El hotel es viejo, la zona está alejada del centro, en una zona que tiene una gasolinera en frente y un supermercado. Las habitaciones antiguas, no tienen cerrojo la puerta. La puerta de madera de hace mil años. Te hace estar insegura porque no tiene ni siquiera un cerrojo. Las camas viejas y muy incómodas. La cafetería es de la serie Cuéntame tal cual. No hay bufet que no os engañen! Solo nos tomamos el desayuno que consistía en una tostada y un café. Los croissant no son del día. El recepcionista fue muy amable al recomendarme sitios para ver por la zona. Los trabajadores fueron agradables y es lo único que puedo comentar en positivo de este sitio. Las fotografías de las habitaciones tienen mejor aspecto de lo que son. Están antiguas y deterioradas, les falta reforma.

Je ne reviendrai pas…
Plutôt déçu de cet hébergement. Déco trop vieillot, climatisation peu efficace, literie peu confortable, stationnement complet, quartier peu attirant… Il y a eu un bris avec les stores qui ne pouvait être géré avant la fin de la fin de semaine, puis la porte qui ne pouvait se fermer à cause d’un bris du loquet. Heureusement, on nous a proposé une autre chambre.
