Strange hotel really!
On arrival, it's one of the most beautiful buildings and approach we've seen in a long time.
The hotel has been built next to the castle and is totally in keeping with its surroundings.
On arrival, the reception area is stunning and the staff helpful and friendly.
However, it went rapidly downhill on opening our room door.
The first thing we noticed was the curtain hanging off its rail!
It's a big room with very little furniture and what there was, was a bit tatty. We were disappointed so headed back to reception to change rooms.
Pretty much the same but the curtains were ok.
This time the room smelt of drains!
Having never stayed in a parador before, we were expecting a bit of luxury, maybe our mistake. The room was pretty basic with standard hard beds, no cushions on the sofa, no little extras.
The building deserves better!
Room was very clean and large but just lacking any wow factor or a hint of luxury.
For an overnight stay, it's a great location and clean, just don't expect a beautiful room in keeping with the building.

The hotel stands alone on the highest point of Lorca, with a good view, suitable for self-driving travel. The hotel staff is very enthusiastic, like it 👍🏻, the breakfast is delicious. The room configuration is slightly poor, there are no toiletries, no slippers, not even a bathrobe, remember to bring it yourself. The parking lot is beautifully repaired and free. Generally speaking, this is the first choice in Lorca

Everything perfect, very clean, very nice staff, restaurant with a short menu but of very good quality at least what we ate, spacious rooms...
The only thing a bit messy to get there and so on but because of the location I doubt anything else can be done..
We took tickets for the castle so it was an ideal weekend..
Oh and the spa, in perfect condition and everything working, which hasn't been like this in all the ones I've been to.
Great conclusion everything!

We spent one night here and loved it! We had two rooms, one with two adults and one with one adult and one child. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed our short stay and will be back! We loved the cafeteria and also the restaurant. The service was great. We were really impressed with the food choices and I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian and gluten free options! The choices for children were also perfect. We can’t wait to return.

This was the 4th Parador of our trip and our expectations were high, because it’s set in the grounds off an archaeological site featuring ruins dating back to the 10th century. Maybe this is why we were sooo disappointed. When you’re in the lobby with all that grandeur you would expect you room to be to par; unfortunately this wasn’t the case. The room was smallish, dark, with tiny windows, cheap-looking furniture, and in dire need of some paint. The bathroom wall and ceiling were a disgrace, and shower glass and hairdryer hook need repair. I must admit that the view was nice. The dining room had no charm and the chef didn’t seem to know what he was doing. My husband asked for a filet mignon medium-rare and the meat came completely raw, (the cow was still mooing). Unlike the other 3 Paradores, this one had no complimentary bottle of water and coffee/tea maker. Nowhere around to buy anything , plus the road to go up and down is very narrow and dangerous with a flimsy wooden guardrail. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Unusual location . Expectations were high but we were disappointed with food both at dinner and at breakfast. Reception staff were very good! Parking is safe, secure and undercover.

The hotel is very conveniently located for travellers along the Spanish coast, the building is very impressive and an interesting design blending new and old. The bar food was excellent, breakfast OK and overall a good price to quality ratio.
