Blue Bells Resort by Maat Hotels

It's a nice resort with a great view of the forest. A good place for a family vacation. The breakfast buffet was also decent with north and south indian dishes. They provided us jeep service for pick up and drop off to the property as it's connected by a very steep road. Overall a good stay.
Mount Valley - A Secluded Getaway

The location is excellent, situated in a secluded area on way to the tata tea packaging factory in pallivasal. The property is enveloped by picturesque tea plantations, offering a splendid view of the aatukad waterfalls and the valley. The culinary experience is exceptional, with hygienic food prepared on a made-to-order basis. However, it's important to note that the ghat road leading to the property is narrow and has a steep slope, requiring caution for those unfamiliar with driving in hilly terrains. Regrettably, there is no designated campfire area as advertised. In summary, the stay is above average overall.

I must say, my recent experience at this hotel was nothing short of a complete disaster. We had prebooked and made arrangements for a breakfast buffet and freshening up facilities, which seemed promising from the photos and discussions with the hotel staff. We had even informed them about the considerable number of families (12 in total) that would be staying. However, upon arrival, the reality was a far cry from what was promised. The initial shock came when we arrived for breakfast and were told that they could only provide us with documentary evidence of the rooms, not the actual rooms themselves. This was a blatant contradiction to our prior conversations and left us feeling deceived from the start. Despite lengthy discussions, the hotel could only manage to arrange some rooms in a separate location. To add insult to injury, some families were placed in rooms within a private residence where the host family was already staying. It was as if the hotel's deceitful tactics began the moment we stepped through their doors. Managing to somehow make do with the limited space and inadequate facilities, we soldiered on. However, the horrors were far from over. The buffet that was arranged for us was a dismal spectacle. Many of the items they had agreed to include were nowhere to be found. One particularly disappointing dish was the poori baji, which had been touted as a highlight. The poori itself was rock-hard and resembled a papad, while the baji was simply unpalatable. It was an insult to our taste buds and a stark contrast to the expectations set by the hotel. Adding insult to injury was the blatant price manipulation. The agreement was crystal clear: kids below 5 were to dine for free, adults were to be charged 150 per head, and kids above 5 would pay half price. Yet, when it came time to settle the bill, we were hit with the shock that we needed to pay full price for kids above 5. Despite presenting our evidence of the agreed-upon terms, the hotel staff flatly denied any such agreement. It took reviewing our WhatsApp chat history to realize that the hotel had set the messages to auto-delete after just one day, conveniently erasing any evidence of the agreement. What makes matters worse is that we had cross-checked with other hotels in the Adimali area before choosing this one. All the other establishments had clearly and consistently stated that kids above 5 would indeed be charged half price. This hotel, however, took advantage of our trust and manipulated both the fresh-up room arrangements and the agreed-upon food terms. In all honesty, this hotel's conduct was reprehensible and unacceptable. From the initial deception about room arrangements to the subpar and missing items in the breakfast buffet, and finally the dishonest pricing tactics, the experience was a lesson in how a seemingly reputable establishment can stoop to such deceitful practices. It is my sincere hope that others can be warned of this terrible experience and avoid bein
