The Terrace Motel

The front desk person was very friendly and accommodating, but this hotel, the cheapest in Munising, is totally overpriced for what you get. If it were a cheap price, it would have been OK, but I have stayed in luxury hotels elsewhere for the same price. The price is a reflection of tourist gouging by Munising hotels, so I would recommend staying in Marquette. The hotel is a time capsule from the 50's: Lovely pink and black tile in bathroom, but also NO A/C, refrig, microwave, coffeemaker, 3-prong grounded plugs (except one in the bathroom.) It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, but I didn't feel like sleeping with the windows open so it was very hot. Perhaps if tourists stop staying in Munising, the hotels will lower the rates to reasonable. It left me with a bad feeling about Munising. We didn't experience this kind of tourist gouging anywhere else in the UP.

Stayed one night on the way to Open Skies Project. We had the suite. No A/C small bathroom, could use a total update. Register next to toilet was rusted out from people spalashing on it. Old car parts laying in the parking lot. Cheapest Hotel in the area and now I know why. Keep on traveling to Marquette for better places and prices. Only good is that this place was offf the main road.
