Visited here today ( Sunday) for carvery lunch. I had salmon, hubby had beef & daughter had ham. It was so yummy & tasty. There were 5 veg to choose from ( or have them all, I did) coffee ☕ and coffee cake for dessert. Place is beautiful. Staff are so helpful & friendly. Special mention to Lorraine & Megan. Great memories of dancing here years ago & it's where we stayed on our wedding night. We will certainly be back!!

My husband and I have just returned from our 3rd (and now last) visit to the Nuremore Hotel. We had been hoping that we had found our place to escape and unwind from day to day pressures having really enjoyed our previous visits but were totally disappointed. As on the previous visits, the majority of the staff were helpful, friendly and polite but sadly this was all that was good about the stay. We were on a dinner, B&B package and although we had thoroughly enjoyed our meals on previous stays, we had double checked the menu online before our stay to make sure that there were choices that catered for our dietary restrictions. This menu is still online at the time of writing this review! We were therefore shocked to discover that not only had the menu been significantly cut back but that ALL of the main courses contain wheat which I am allergic to. On the 1st night I therefore had to settle for a dry meal of plain chicken, chips and vegetables - hardly fitting for a 4 star hotel meal. The staff at reception arranged for a stir fry for the 2nd evening which was enjoyable - but so embarrassing to have to have this arranged by reception. Breakfast was not as good as previous stays either - no longer a freshly cooked to order choice from the breakfast menu but just a self service buffet. The hot food looked dry and things like tomatoes were right next to wheat items like white sausage. Then we had to change rooms not once but twice due to noise from neighbouring rooms. We moved our luggage to the second room which only had one room next door which we had been told was currently vacant as we had requested to move to a quiet area. We needed to shower and wanted a couple of hours to catch up on lost sleep from the previous night. Not possible! First of all the shower wasn't working. Apparently some plumbing was being done and the water was off for about an hour. After it finally came back on we tried to settle down only to be disturbed a few minutes later by loud noises from the adjoining room. Dismayed to realise that on the 4th floor the walls are paper thin with no sound proofing at all unlike on the lower floors. At this point we really felt like just returning home but were so exhausted we ended up accepting a 2nd replacement room, this time an executive room. This was comfortable and quiet but still not really satisfactory given that the shower wasn't working properly - even on the highest setting the water was barely lukewarm. We had booked this stay at the last minute in order to try to relax and unwind from a stressful situation at home but we ended up feeling even more exhausted and stressed. The overall feel of the hotel is now one of falling standards (including decor as previous reviewers have mentioned) and poor food.

Stayed here for an anniversary has we got married here the staff where friendly but that’s where the good ends we stayed in a suite which was very tried and far from four star standard had dinner which was far from the standard that this hotel use to be and has for the breakfast what was there was cold certainly far better places to stay for less money did bring up plenty of points when checking out but the reply I got was do iou want a manager to ring you so won’t hold my breath waiting on that phone call my advice spend your money else where

I waited a week to post this review, in the expectation that the Nuremore would respond to my email of complaint, sent after we arrived home on Sunday evening. As they didn't bother to reply, I have no qualms about posting a negative review. We travelled from Leitrim for an overnight stay at the Nuremore. We were in a Junior Suite, for which we paid €200, to include breakfast. We also spent €100 in the restaurant on a meal for two people. On the way home, I received a call from the front desk, enquiring about a charge of €3.20 on our room. The only thing I could put it down to was the second cup of coffee I had ordered in the restaurant at breakfast time. I wasn't attempting to evade payment as I was not aware that coffee was rationed. To be honest, I'm horrified that a 4-star hotel would even bother calling a guest to look for such a sum. This was made all the more galling by the fact that there was no hot water in our shower, or the sink, in our bathroom in the morning. Is that also subject to an extra charge? Or the toilet paper which ran out? Do they charge more for that too? Would it have cost us more to have a room without stained furniture? We have stayed in the Nuremore before, without any complaint, but I'm afraid this experience was a complete let-down. A once lovely hotel is now in desperate need of a revamp. The general appearance of the place is faded, chipped and stained. While the food was good and the staff welcoming and helpful, I could no longer consider this a four star hotel. It is barely a good three star. Standards have slipped.

Had a two nights stay in Nuremore and it was a very enjoyable experience. The location is idyllic, situated overlooking the golf course and beside a small lake. We will be returning sooner rather than later. Pros : 1. Very friendly and helpful staff. 2. Comfortable rooms 3. Nice, homely flavoursome food. 4. Nice pool and leisure centre. 5. Nice looking golf course (didn't play it) Cons: 1. Very sporadic Wi-Fi connection in bedroom. 2. Behaviour of children in pool needs to be monitored and checked. 3. Rooms though comfortable are a little dated but we have just come out of a pandemic and credence must be apportioned to that fact.

I have been having the worst experience with Nuremore. I bought vouchers for my Mother and Father as a Christmas present. Recently I have been trying to book in but the hotel is inexplicably close. There was no prior mention. Both my mother and father are profoundly deaf and so I usually handle bookings etc on their behalf. I am glad they are not having to go through this process as the response (in the odd times I get one) are rude and abrupt. I have asked for a refund but this supposedly cannot be done. The idea was to get them booked in for their anniversary but I would hate to send them to this hell hole and would just like my money back. They have gone down the route of just ignoring me now. Terrible terrible customer service.

Was recommended by a friend whom has family in Carrickmacross: stayed for a few days on business in the local area, service was great at check-in and the barman was on-the-ball, food was prepared quickly and was excellent quality; I had the steak, steak sandwich and also garlic bread during my stay. The room was large and I appreciated the quality furniture, bed was comfy and the room was nice and warm considering the freezing conditions at the time. I will certainly stay again when I am next in the area.

Lovely hotel. My room was huge .... I couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights in the room ... but this was probably me being a techno dummy ... LOL I ate in the restaurant ... had a starter Chicken and mushroom vol au vent - it was delicious ... & generous enough to do me for dinner ! Also enjoyed a swim in the pool.

Only one disabled parking space is totally unacceptable. Breakfast was poor. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay but would probably not return. Our room was good and food in the bar was very good and the hotel is situated in a very nice location
