Visited here on the Sunday long weekend in September. The food is very very average. I’m pretty sure my burger patty was deep fried. Chips served warm rather than hot, the “Chicken Parma” looked like it had burnt bits scraped off. The gardens are significantly unkempt and it’s a miracle the wooded patio is still able to stand. Poles, chains and vines are the only thing holding it up. The outside bar sits derelict. The area down near the stage is just a hot dust bowl with minimal shade. Inside, cobwebs everywhere. Male bartender seems to be in a bit of a daze. Overall, this is an example of a business that is solely relying on its location and rich history. It used to be a fabulous destination!!

Drove from Rockingham to take family members visiting from New Zealand and the 4 of us were very disappointed in the meals. We all ordered something different too. Chairs and tables are plastic and uncomfortable. Lawns were not mowed, the place felt like it was deserted/abandoned. Ginger beer was murky and looked like it had been sitting around for years. Don’t recommend this place although it does look like it would have been great in the past - it has a lot of potential just sadly it’s clear to me it’s been let go. Maybe a result of Covid? :(

I really loved the feel of this tavern. Gardens are beautiful and I enjoyed all the different areas and rooms in the tavern. Jens and his staff are super friendly and explained some of the amazing history. Definitely recommend a visit

Ein tolles altes Hotel mit Restaurant indem wir nach einer anstrengenden Wanderung übernachtet haben. Man kann Essen vorbestellen was ins Zimmer gebracht wird, und welches man dann mit einer Mikrowelle aufwärmen kann. Das hat auch super lecker geschmeckt. Die Bedienung an der Theke war super nett und der Hotelbesitzer ist ein wirkliches Unikat. Das Zimmer war gemütlich, sauber und komfortabel. Am Wochenende war hier auch echt viel los und eine gute Stimmung.
