Stayed here for 2 nights in a 4 bed room on the ground floor. Check in was relatively straightforward as the hotel had already asked me to check-in online. Even then, the staff still required me to sign into the guest book and needed to take a photo of my visa stamp. I was shown around the hotel and then to my room, which didn’t look anything like the room I booked. I had a busy day and was heading out anyway, so I didn't raise an issue. Fortunately when I came back, the staff had realised I was given the wrong room and I was moved. The dorm was tiny. Literally four bunks, a chest of small lockers and a small space to move. The luggage had to be put in the locker underneath the bottom bunk bed. The locking mechanism was broken and there was no way to lock it, so I ended up putting my most valuable items in the provided smaller locker. The staff gave me a key for that. Not a crisis, but still annoying to leave some stuff unlocked. The hotel has two floors and there are communal areas on both. The common area on the upper floor was much funkier as it had a library with reading material and board games. There’s also a kitchen with cooking facilities. For smokers, there is a sort of patio area where people hang out and it’s also where you can hang any laundry. The showers and bathrooms are basic, functional, but clean. There was also no problem getting hot water. The floors are tiled throughout, like most places in India and the staff clean the floor as well as the shared washrooms and showers regularly. A major problem throughout the hostel is mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are a fact of life in India, but I do feel more could be done. For example there are holes drilled into the doors of each dorm room which allow mosquitoes to enter. Location wise, the hotel is far from the major sights. If you're short on time, expect to be using taxis a lot. If you have time to spare, it's a lovely place to stay with great ambiance. Overall, I was satisfied with the stay and the cleanliness of the place, but I was also pretty annoyed by the mosquitoes. The staff are kind and friendly.
