We stayed here between games in Euro 2024. Mulheim is a nice little town and the hotel is a short walk from the station. Tbe decoration and touches around the hotel and rooms were very quaint. I had a single room which was pleasant and comfortable. The only thing was that there were some kind of works right outside the window at 8am. But not the fault of the hotel. Lovely big powerful shower and nice touch of a little bag of sweets in the room. Definitely worth staying.

I had tried to book into the Holiday Inn nearby where my colleagues were staying but there was no available room. So booked into Auntie Alma’s and was pleasantly surprised. It looks like a dull modern building but inside it is wonderful. Comfortable spacious room with great decoration and furniture. Lacking a beer fridge so had to go out to a pub! Needed cool water in the morning. The dining room is stunning with fantastic decoration such as lamp standards hanging upside down from the ceiling. I had breakfast there for two days and it was very good continental style. Very fresh crispy breads. The receptionist Claudia was very helpful. So next time I am back in Mulheim Auntie Alma’s will be my first choice.
