With lawns stretching across green private gardens to the shore of Lake Vembanad, this extraordinary calming oasis is very special indeed. We arrived after 2 weeks of travelling from Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Cochin and Munnar through the humid tropical streets of Kerala, and entered what could almost be a modern take on a Roman Villa. The central courtyard is built around a large central water feature, where the covered open corridors are actually the open air dining area of the restaurant. The villa is decorated throughout with traditional and contemporary sculptures, paintings and traditional art, and the rooms are cleverly designed and furnished with space, views, and everything expected in such 'lush' surroundings. But, the BEST part of this place, the most outstanding feature is the STAFF. All are attentive, gentle, enthusiastic and helpful. In our case, our 3 days here were perfect because of the service received. Mary greeted us when we arrived, and from that point every moment and every meal was attended by the lovely Arya and her colleagues Suresh and Vishnu. And finally, the food was just some of the best we have eaten here produced by Chef Sahal and his dedicated kitchen. Thank you everyone. Richard and Becky B.
