This was a last minute winter break, just 5 days. We booked a swim up room and planned to relax and visit the spa and beach. This ticked all our boxes. We have had the most outstanding time here, and will happily return to the same hotel again. The hotel itself is beautiful, recently refurbished to a very high standard. The swim up room gave us a degree of privacy (we didn’t actually use the pool as it was freezing but it meant having a large patio for yoga and tai chi practice). Coming at this time of year meant that the resort was quiet so no queues for anything and no crowds. Perfect. The staff are faultlessly friendly and helpful. Panda and Spider made us feel very welcome. The bar staff were chatty and polite. We don’t drink alcohol and they were on hand with mocktails and tea suggestions. I have only a couple of negatives/things to note - the mattress was VERY firm, this may suit some people but unfortunately not me so I didn’t sleep all that well. - the pools aren’t heated, so not really usable at this time of year, unless you are a seasoned cold water swimmer you are not going to enjoy a dip! Not a problem for us as that wasn’t what we were here for but something to bear in mind! But to end on the positives: The place is spotless and the private beach is honestly a little slice of paradise at this time of year. The security are quick to move on any sellers/camel wranglers so you can relax in peace. The food choices are good considering how empty the hotel is. We never felt like we were ‘off season’ and lacking. The spa is well worth a visit for a couple of hours of pampering. We booked a day out with Coco near reception and did quad biking, horse riding and camel riding round a local village. This was EXCELLENT. We paid £200 for two of us for around 4.5 hours of adventures. Highly recommend.
