We have just spent two weeks at this lovely hotel, the staff make this hotel and make you feel so welcome, they can’t do enough for you. We had a couple of teething problems but Noura soon sorted this out. We had a lovely clean room with a pool, there were 14 of us 5 rooms. Our maid was just wonderful she gave us a big hug every day. Activity Pool bar Mohamed was great fun as was the lifeguard Salah, we had such a laugh with these two. The entertainment team were friendly and a good laugh, special shout out to Brown, Jamaica, Boaba, Alex and Sisi ❤️ we are taking away wonderful memories and hope they keep the new darts game going 😂 restaurant and bar staff were fantastic, special mention to Mohamed Ali in the lobby. Italian restaurant staff made a massive effort for our friends 21st birthday and our last evening meal, they were fantastic. My husband used the gym as enjoyed it. The gardeners kept the place immaculate, they’re the forgotten ones when tipping but always a good morning or hello to be had, they even gave my friend some flowers 🥰 on the whole it was a brilliant holiday and we would return!!

What an amazing holiday! I was abit sceptical after reading some reviews but it was a cheap, semi last minute holiday. I had never been to Tunisia but I’d certainly return! As soon as we got to the hotel the manager gave us a free upgrade of a sea view. Check in was quick and got our cases within minutes. The location of the hotel is quite remote, there isn’t much going on or to do within walking distance. But you can get a taxi to the marina area which is about £5. PROS: - plenty of toilets (always clean) - the grass around the pool area was a great idea, felt a lot more natural, was better for the kids and it meant you could walk around bare foot in the heat! - clean rooms with huge comfortable bed - loads to do in the hotel - the beach and sea is beautiful, lifeguards, security and always sun beds available. - beach bar so you could get a drink on the beach - pools are great, and water slides kept my boy entertained for hours. The water slide and pool lifeguards were amazing! So playful with the kids.. thank you! - good food variety, and all tastes nice! The people complaining about food are the same people who eat takeaways every night back home. We was there for 2 weeks and could always find something to eat. - we booked both the camel rides and quads with Mohammed (private tour operator) who is around the hotel. Both trips were great! Authentic and really got to see the real Tunisia. He was so friendly and allowed us to change our booking when we got ill. - Armani on guest relations was lovely, she made our anniversary so special, decorating the table at dinner for us and the bedroom. - the entertainment team was one of the best I’ve ever experienced! They worked so hard from morning til night! The shows at night were great! I’m sure people expect west end musicals, but these shows were really decent! Thank you to all the entertainment staff who made such an effort with us as a family and my 7 year old and 15 month old. They really made our experience. TIMI, MUNTY, MADI, MIMI.. you all are such amazing people. - all the staff were so lovely, the comments about having to tip them are not true. We didn’t give any tips til the end of the holiday and we were looked after soo well by the staff. From the pool bar staff to the cleaners, the gym guy, and restaurant staff. Everyone was great! CONS: - You don’t see much of the tui reps in the hotel at all. We missed the welcome meeting as didn’t know where it was. - also didn’t know there was a tui kids club until after the first week. Wasn’t advertised well (run seperate to the hotel entertainment team) they didn’t have much presence. - only 2 restaurants were open when we went (15th September) the main buffet one and the Italian. The Italian was lovely we went twice. Food and service was 10/10. - We went as a party of 5, the 3 adults all caught a severe stomach bug. We’d all ate and drank different foods so couldn’t work out what it was but we all ended up pretty ill f

There are a lot of very good things about the hotel. The service is outstanding, all the staff were brilliant and could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The food was good, loads of choice and a number of stations that made it fresh in front of you (photos show the food). The drinks are all branded drinks which was a pleasant surprise. The water slides kept the kids amused for hours and all the lifeguards were fabulous. The grounds and gardens are well kept and very pretty. The reason for 4* is that the hotel itself is very tired, the rooms are clean but in desperate need of renovation. We had a family den room which sleeps 4, but there was only one hook to hang one towel on. A great holiday but would have been amazing if the hotel was in a better state.

Thank you Simon Calder, great recommendation, Gatwick, 7 day 1/2 board TUI Tunisia Sunshine break. The local Tunisians were warm and friendly without being pushy. The Phenetia Hotel was 4 Star, rooms clean and tidy. Food excelent. The trip to Sousse delightful and I recommend the French-Gothic Restaurant L'escargot, its worth chatting to the owner. Sidi Bou Said was extravagantly Blue-White. Monastair once again worth a visit. Whole experience First Class.

After 6 years of not visiting Tunisia so very happy that we choose Manar as our return. First time at the Manar having done quite a bit of due diligence. Initially very concerned as we did not find enough up to date information on the internet about the hotel, it’s services etc but what changed that was this group and the acceptance into this group. So the first thank you goes to the groups Admin’s to allow me access and more importantly for then allowing/approving the various posts I contributed into the group. This was my way of saying thank you and to help and assist fellow holiday makers. The hotel itself is split into Manar 1 and Manar 2. Both buildings are well furnished with a variety of rooms and facilities. Arguably the majority of hussle and bustle is in and around Manar 1. The Lobbey Bar being the main congregating area for all supported by the amphitheater just outside reception. The buffet resturant - well what else could you ask for? A variety of fresh meat dishes available every day alongside fresh fish and vegetarian dishes. Not forgetting the staples - freshly baked Pizza, Pasta and not forgetting the fries, goujons, fish fingers (fav 😋) There’s always a BBQ on daily supported by a salad bar. The incredible dessert table - just don’t go there a smash hit for the sweet tooth folks amongst us. Oh! You can even go crazy on the Chocolate fountain, Slush machine or variety of delectable ice creams. Alternatively there’s always the fresh fruit to finish the evening off with. Sorry no feedback on the alcohol as a tea total.😎 Activities run every day by a very enthusiastic and energetic animation team. They do change your entire day so my suggestion is do get involved. I could go on and on but it’s been a wonderful holiday returning to Tunisia but more importantly to the Manar Hotel. Lastly, just want to extend my family’s thanks to everyone (too many to mention) who made it so wonderfully possible from the cooks, waiters, pool folks inc the lifeguards, cleaners not for getting the animation team - Thank You 👏🏼 Hoping to pop in again soon for a break 😉

This was myself and my partners trip to Tunisia and to Manar in July 2023. The hotel was booked via TUI online and this included the usual accommodation, flights, transfers etc. After booking this changed from the listing as AQI Manar Hotel to, our booking with TUI Kid's Club AQI Manar, I thought at first I had made a mistake. The booking was for room type ‘Main Building Double Room with Kids Den’. We arrived late with a 3.5 hr delay from Manchester due to baggage handlers issues or so we were told. This meant a very late arrival at Manar (1.30am). We were immediately looked after and ushered into the restaurant to get a meal. We then went and booked in at reception. This went smoothly. You fill in a sheet with your details, we were not asked to hand over our passports as I had put the numbers on the form. You are then fitted with a coloured all-inclusive bracelet and handed one electronic card door key and two towels (as a couple). We then were asked to pay the tourist tax which was £20 (didn’t get a receipt and was not asked for one at the airport on departure, so not an issue). We were then taken to our room. We made a presumption (that will not be made again) that there would be a balcony, but there was not, it did not say there would be on the listing ’Main Building Double Room with Kids Den’ (will check carefully in the future, it is quite clear on the listing and picture, just missed it). The complex is made of two buildings Manar 1 and Manar 2 (I presume the different coloured bracelets distinguish between the buildings or board). We stayed in the main building Manar 1 that is shown on the online TUI listing and in a bird wing shape with slides to the front. Many of the rooms in Manar 1 do not appear to have balconies, except on the ends of the building that appear large. Manar 2 all had balconies from what I could see. We asked if we could upgrade but were told not as it was full, nor did this option come up when booking only the one we selected. The hotel will exchange GBP for Tunisian Dinar, the rate when there was nearly 4 dinar to the pound. We didn’t feel the need to do this and paid where needed in GBP as this is accepted with ease. I would suggest if you like to tip, have a number of £1, £2 coins and also £5, £10 notes for larger tips. These are very greatly received by the recipient. On that note all staff were extremely professional and polite, we never saw any different throughout and they could not do enough for you during your stay. Our room safe didn’t work on arrival, this was very quickly addressed, first with reception who assigned a security officer, then maintenance who changed it within half an hr. The tip we gave was very much appreciated as I assume it would be waiters/bar staff who usually get tips. The room was one with a child den that had two bunk beds. The double bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Tea and coffee making facilities plus a small fridge that had milk and a bottle of water on our arrival. B

The customer service was really good, everyone was really helpful and kind. Noora was always available to help and even got us special food on our request. My children loved the animation team - rico, brown and team made our holiday the best despite the cold weather it was still a good time indoor. I give this hotel 5 stars review as even during winter month there is lots to do indoor

Booked an all inclusive holiday with TUI at this hotel and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. After reading mixed reviews about it, I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was all great! Never the same food, every day something different and delicious with plenty of varieties for even the most pickiest eater. The drinks and cocktails were lovely. Loads of things to do at the resort and the animation team was amazing! The rooms clean and spacious( we stayed in Manar2) and the staff are truly amazing! Not enough words of praise! 100% recommend.
