En vacances pour 3 nuits, notre séjour a été un vrai plaisir ! L’accueil a été très chaleureux et prévenant du check in au check out ! L’hôtel est entièrement rénové, la chambre avec vue sur la piscine et montagne est splendide et surtout extrêmement calme (nous avons pu dormir fenêtre ouverte). En parlant de sommeil, la literie (lit et oreiller) est récente et de très bonne qualité (accueil ferme du matelas, pour nous c’est parfait). La salle du petit déjeuner (et restaurant que nous recommandons pour au moins un soir, TOP rapport qualité prix) est très très cosy, tout comme le coin détente apéritif en musique. Enfin un grand merci à l’ensemble du personnel (du directeur à l’accueil en passant par les serveurs) qui on tous été d’une gentillesse spontanée ! A recommander, nous songeons déjà à un retour en septembre !

This hotel has not been invested in properly, considering it’s wonderful location, gorgeous architecture and characterful setting. Such a shame. Firstly, the “dinner” options are very limited - only two options for each course, and even when it was suggested that my children could not eat either a seafood risotto or Veal and sweetbreads (!) the waiters offered no alternative. So my children went hungry. The risotto was inedible and overcooked porridge. When we didn’t eat any of it and complained the waiters shrugged. When I suggested I wouldn’t pay for it because it was inedible, I was told by the manager that they “had 61 covers that night and nobody else complained”, basically saying that my complaint didn’t matter!! This really soured the experience for all of us, and made me notice many other “service” problems from our three night stay. For example, the ‘included’ breakfast buffet was tired and very limited in terms of fresh fruit and healthy options. If you wanted a couple of fried eggs, you could order them for an additional €5! When we asked for a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine we had bought to keep in the empty minibar fridge, I was told to ask the barman, who said “bring it back immediately!” As if I was going to steal it! The pool towels were provided in a nice basket to take down from your room - a nice touch til you read the note on the basket saying “we will count the towels in your room every night and if any are missing, the cost will be added to your bill” Honestly, if you are paying €300 or more for a night in a supposed 4* hotel, surely you trust your guests not to steal the tired pool towels? Such a shame. This hotel could be really nice if the service and overall attitude towards guests were upgraded to 21st century, international standards.

I believe most people travel to Valensole for the lavender fields and this B&B is a perfect base for such activity. Located just outside the main village, the B&B has ample parking and peaceful green surroundings. Our stay of 2 nights took place during the recent heatwave across the region and this B&B doesn't have air conditioning. Even then we did not face too much difficulty. A standing fan/cooler was provided and that did the job for us. Our room was on the smaller side but the bathroom was very specious. Room had TV, safe and tea/coffee facility. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast, which was included in our rate, was good but not great. Staff attitude were very nice and all of them were helpful and polite. The reason I can not give this place the full marks is we encountered the lady owner of the B&B when we reached the hotel early and wanted to find out if we can drop off our luggage. Unfortunately the lady was dismissive and impolite to say the least. She even informed us that this place is her home and not a hotel. Fortunately we did not have to interact with her again during our stay and that was a blessing. The other problem we encountered was the Wifi didn't work for most of the time during our stay. Incidentally, if you stay here then be careful while walking to the hotel from car park area. The water sprinkler system gets switched on at all hours. Even with these issues we overall enjoyed our stay and the restaurant deserves a special mention for their food quality.
