the owners are lazy and hopeless in my opinion, they didn't give me back my licence after I checked in, sent an email and called them to ask if they could send it to me, they said they had it and would post it to me, Three weeks later and still haven't received it, their water pressure is woeful, the place looks great but its hopeless, they ask for a bond as well and they keep it, I'm still waiting on my bond back as well, absolutely hopeless do not stay here not worth it, so overpriced for what it is, lazy staff and owners, terrible.

Great pub. Good rooms............................. except when the ducted AC turns them into an Oven with no temp options in the room. Room was incredibly hot We got a room at the back and was surprised with the washer and driers going at 1am Saturday morning, REALLY???? and they say on their requirements, no excess noise. NO PARKING for guests, you're on your own there, you just have to stand in the car park out the back and hope someone leaves. Food was great and the staff were great, except for the guy who checked us in, who clearly didn't want to be there

I booked Friday 24 & Saturday 25th May to attend a 60th birthday party on the Saturday night. Returning to the hotel after dinner on the Friday night I was kept awake until 11pm by pub patrons drunkenly yelling in the yard at the rear of the hotel, adjacent to my room. I was told when I checked in I was told that there was a music event to be held on Saturday afternoon, also in the yard. Hoping for a nap after lunch before the evening’s party was impossible - a crowd of hundreds with thumping rock music from 1-7pm. Then awoken at 6am on Sunday morning by the crew dismantling the stage & marquees. Had the hotel advised me that the venue had live music until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays and had a scheduled live music event on the Saturday, I would never have booked the hotel. And it wasn’t cheap - $353 for two nights. The owners need to decide if they are running an accommodation facility or a music venue. If you want to get a decent night’s sleep, stay elsewhere.

Well I booked a room but then I couldn’t go due to reasons out of my control. This hotel decided to not refund any of the booking or talk to me about it. When cost of living is an issue this hotel doesn’t show any empathy or understanding.

4 Lamb shanks at a table of seven for dinner and we couldn’t be happier. Lovely flavour, perfect size, greens cooked perfectly. We will be back. Worth the drive from the Gold Coast. Sunday sess music was a tad loud but finished about 6.30pm. Great country atmosphere beats Gold Coast pretensions any day!

This accommodation was near perfect for me. The single room was newly renovated, spotless, comfortable and great size ensuite bathroom. Loved that there is a kitchen sink to fill up the kettle. Right in the middle of town and walking distance to all shops, theatre and a club. I stayed in room number 2 which was on the far western end of the building. Unfortunately there were a lot of workers staying up my end of the building so I was woken each morning at 5:15 am with their door then the door to the outside staircase slamming shut. If you're an early riser there would be no problem. I became an early riser. Not sure if the rooms further to the east side of the building would have the same problem. There was a band on one night but I barely heard it up my end of the building. I rated my 3 night stay 4 star only because of the very early wake-up door slamming, which is unavoidable due to the design of the door locks. Otherwise, a lovely stay. I would happily stay again.

Very cute hotel in main st of Murwillumbah. Looks to be recently renovated. Perfect for overnight stopover for me on way through to Qld. Pros: cosy, renovated, big ensuite, kitchenette, location. Cons: no shelf/cupboard to put your bathroom items, water pressure way too soft, shower needs a screen to prevent water spilling into rest of bathroom, needs power points & bedside lamp next to bed (how can guests read in bed)? Overall happy with my stay - just need to fix the cons and it’d be perfect

Fantastic Value and a pleasant surprise. An immaculately clean room that looked as though it has been recently refurbished. We had a superior queen room that had a kitchenette and a sitting area. Meals in the bistro were good value with 15 meals at $15 and excellent quality. The bar staff were friendly and attentive. Good vibe for old and young, highly recommended and will stay next time we travel through Air conditioning in the room is ducted and no control for the room, so it was a bit stuffy. Booking in was a bit clumbsy and they kept us waiting for a while but the bar staff did make us comfortable. No powerpoints next to the bed so my husband couldn't use his CPAP machine. We did ask for an extension lead but wasn't available. Confusing access to the rooms but once we found our way, it was ok. Parking with a trailer wasn't possible and we had to park on the street with a 2 hr limit.

What a wonderful pub! Full of character and full of characters. The architect is beautiful and the place is open with plenty of fresh air. We had pork ribs, chicken schnitzel and barramundi - all were excellent and generous portions. Prices were very reasonable as well. Selection of beers is good but could be improved with additional craft beer on tap. Great pub!
