The Ginkgo Tree

My husband and I recently stayed one evening at the Ginko Tree Inn. The location was very conveniently located and close to the Soaring Eagle entertainment venue (less than a ten minute drive). The Inn was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The owner, Mr. Davies, was extremely friendly, accommodating, and professional. Breakfast was perfectly prepared and the presentation was top notch! This was our third time staying at the Ginko and we always look forward to going back. Lots of exciting changes are coming to the Inn so if you haven't booked a stay yet, be sure to do so soon!

I always prefer to support local or small businesses even when it means paying more. The ginkgo tree inn seemed perfect, and so my partner and I booked less than two hours before we checked in for 3 nights. We were in town for a funeral so didn’t have much time to prepare for this trip and we were thrilled they had an opening (yellow flag since it was Easter weekend). After we checked in we went visiting with our family on this very sad afternoon, and one our family members offered a room to us, and we decided that this would be best for my partner who lost his mother the day before; we really wanted to be with family, but didn’t want to assume which is why we booked a room. Even though we had already booked the ginkgo tree we figured this shouldn’t be an issue because we just made the reservation literally 3 hours prior. I called costumer service and explained our situation and asked if we could change our reservation to 1 night, given our circumstances and the fact that we just made the reservation same day. Of course I’d pay for the first night that’s only fair, but requested if we could please check out early to be with family. Unbelievable they said no, policy was to cancel 7 days ahead. I said, I just made the reservation, I understand why the policy exists, but this situation is different in that 1) we didn’t block another reservation we just booked and 2) we are grieving there is a death please reconsider. They didn’t care. I was shocked. I also requested a call from the owner and the women (who wouldn’t give me her name - odd, very odd) said okay and they never called me back. They are as heartless as a corporation or large chain. We visit mt pleasant 3-4 times a year and will def NOT be staying at this place again. By the way, the tv in our sugarplum room is on the adjacent wall so can’t see it without contorting your neck and there are no dresser drawers or closets so there is no where to hang your clothes, except for 4 wall hooks, which they kindly pointed out as if I was the one who was crazy for asking for a rack to use in my room. the water pressure is not strong and the drains are plugged. A mistake on so many levels. Maybe your visit will be better. But why risk it. These people are uncaring and only Want your money. Must be desperate.

My girlfriend and I were visiting Mt. Pleasant for a concert at Soaring Eagle and we decided on a Bed and Breakfast as we were tired of the stale hotel experience. We were immediately enamored with the Victorian theme home and friendly service we experienced upon arrival. The host gave us a tour of the backyard deck overlooking the river and we really enjoyed the view with a glass of wine prior to heading out for the evening. The bedroom had a newly updated bathroom and small balcony overlooking the back deck. The bed was soft but supportive and we slept well all night. In the morning, our breakfast of french toast, bacon and fruit was so delicious and amazing. The hostess and her daughter were very friendly and the entire experience highly recommended.

The owners/ hosts are a wonderful couple!! Sooo kind and happy!!They clearly care about their business. There is much attention to detail. The home itself is absolutely beautiful. I have never stayed in a cleaner place. Despite much of the intricate nature of the home, there was not a speck of dust anywhere. The home is within easy walking distance to multiple great restaurants and bars in the downtown area. It is near a park. This would be a great place for a family gathering, wedding, or other social functions. I don’t have a negative thing to say about our experience there. It was absolutely wonderful. Thank you!!

Gorgeous Victorian house with such attention to detail. Something catches your eye in every corner. The hosts were so very friendly, efficient, warm and accommodating. They served us wine in our room. Made sure we knew where everything was. And how to operate it. There was a fireplace in our rooms. There is a lovely coffee nook. The place was immaculate and comfortable. We felt pampered. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely lovely! We stayed at the Ginkgo Tree Inn for a family reunion. There was a Journey concert that same weekend, and the chain hotels had jacked up their prices. Well sucks for them because that led us to the Inn, and we’ll be staying here on our Mt Pleasant trips from now on! David and Layla were so kind and friendly. The breakfast (made by Layla) was phenomenal and worth the stay just for that! It’s location is great - right between Island Park and downtown. Everything was a short walk away. The park is lovely with new skate ramps, pickle ball courts, and a water park for kids! We stayed in room 8. It’s a large room with the most comfortable bed! I slept really well. While we didn’t take advantage of some amenities because of time constraints, we did enjoy coffee on the back patio which was lovely. They also have beer and wine available. We’ll be back!
