The stayed at Lavinia Bay Beach Hotel, and it was an exceptional experience. The rooms were spacious, clean, and elegantly designed, offering a perfect balance of comfort and luxury. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every need was met with a smile.
The highlight of my stay was the breathtaking view from the balcony with a sea view, which provided a perfect spot for relaxation. The on-site restaurant served a variety of delicious dishes, with fresh ingredients and excellent presentation.But the pool has to be renovated and maintained.

The location of the hotel is terrible, it is very dirty around, abandoned houses, on the territory of the hotel from the window there is a view of a sea of dirt and a dump, on the site there is a well dug in which the water is dirty and smells terrible. The pool on the roof does not inspire confidence to swim there, the beach near the hotel is very dirty, there is garbage everywhere!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! The manager of Lavinia bay restaurant gave us a very bad customer service today when we were gonna book a family room for 4 people. Usually the family room for 18,000 LKR but the manager said he will give the room for 25,000 saying that they have to spend a lot of money for cleaning. Cleaning is a main responsibility for a hotel but unfortunately the manager was gonna charge extra for cleaning which is unacceptable. NEVER TRUST THIS HOTEL!! Terrible food portions and terrible customer service!!!

Interesting….. we had a very comfortable room with great views to the sea/beach etc and the location was great affording access (via the railway track) to the beach. Staff made a sincere effort to look after you. Breakfast and the evening restaurant for dinner were exceptional.

Positives-
The staff are kind and considerate- we could see they wanted to give a good impression and look after us. We booked for 2 nights- the rooms are air conditioned and spacious.
Negatives-
Unfortunately, the hotel itself is rundown and there are some significant issues with maintenance, cleanliness and general upkeep.
The shower in our room had issues with its piping (water spouting from connections).
The cleanliness of the bedding was the most significant issue for us. We only stayed here for two nights (and flew out on our last day), sadly I was bitten by bed bugs, and this is something that hotel management needs to deal with immediately - as well being something anyone looking to stay here should be VERY aware of.
