Lovely day out. This pub is more than just 'a country pub'. Good food and varied menu with plenty of choice for my gluten free husband! Helpful staff and food on the table promptly. Decor tasteful, good facilities. We got an off road parking space. As it was my birthday, a little surprise added! Not cheap...but worth it!

We stayed here last night. On arrival pub extremely busy being a Sunday but checked in half hour early. We stayed in the Primrose room which was stunning with view over meadow, massive bath!! Downside was above pub so if you're a light sleeper like me be warned it's noisy in evening plus breakfast staff arrive 7am! Breakfast OK my husband enjoyed his I however opted for the smoked salmon scrambled egg the eggs were bland with no flavour think chef needs to source new supplier but our waitress was very nice! Our meal Sunday eve was a roast which was huge but delicious 😋 one other critic was no milk supplied in our room for hot beverages but apart from that we do recommend and would return but get an outside room which are smaller but would be quieter

Lovely village, nice staff. We came for a birthday. We decided to order the Rib of Beef to share and were it was not available. So we asked for the partridge and were told that was not available either. This was at 7.15 on a Friday evening. Why were they on the menu?

We had a lovely weekend but a little disappointed with our room(deluxe Warren) Lack of electric points in bedroom Only one which was used for kettle/coffee maker and was a least2 meters from the mirror, table and chair no chance of using a hair dryer or straighteners, we asked 3 times for an extension cable to use but nothing forthcoming. And had to take it in turns to charge mobile phones. Chair and carpet stained. Bathroom fan not working Curtain rail seemed to be broken as curtains were falling down. Serving staff and food excellent

Disappointing stay . We stayed here on the 15th September . Upon check in we were shown to our ground floor room (Lark) It quickly became apparent the an empty room next to us was being used as a temporary storage area for kitchen equipment . What should have been a relaxing Sunday afternoon turned in to a constant stream of staff walking past our windows carrying all manner of pots and pans and equipment to put in the room next door. The noise associated with this was really unacceptable and prevented us from opening the shutters or windows because of the noise. This disruption continued for several hours. We ordered a charcuterie board to have in the room but it took 45 minutes to arrive ( after we reminded staff) Dinner didn’t quite hit the mark, my roast beef was extremely pink despite asking for it to be well done, the staff were apologetic and replaced my meal but by the time it came my partner had already finished his. In the morning the noise began again, it’s really not ideal to have what can only be described as furniture being dragged across the floor in another storage area directly above our room at 7.30am Breakfast was cooked to order but it was stone cold and again had to sent back. To top it all off we were overcharged at check out. Unfortunately the Packhorse inn don’t appear to check their emails as I am still awaiting a reply to my concerns raised .

Booked dinner, bed and breakfast for my partner's birthday and had a wonderful stay. Great meal and a comfortable night before the finest cooked breakfast I've ever had (top quality ingredients treated with love). Service was good and friendly though they did appear a bit under-staffed and under pressure during dinner service.

This was our 3rd time at this small chain of inns / hotels but the first at the Packhorse Inn. Overall, this is a lovely place to stay, with very comfortable rooms, very good food and attentive and friendly staff. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by an aggressive local who had been drinking for several hours in the bar. He took a dislike to us for some reason which meant we had to leave the bar and stay in our room for a few hours until dinner to avoid further confrontation.
