Mougins Luxury Retreats

Excellent staff. Lovely boutique hotel and very peaceful. Our room (Anais - is a Prestige room) was excellent. It has a lovely terrace with two sun loungers and table and chairs with great views. I think the hotel should make more of marketing this terrace.

Went to the place for an afternoon coctail, coffee and snack, and it was a great experience - Fantastic view and good service at the small hidden gem. We have not stayed the hotel but only tried the lounge bar, which was a great experience, which can really recommend.

We had a most enjoyable 3-night stay last week. Service from all members of staff is outstanding, from the efficient arranging of a group taxi transfer to a local function to the arrival pick-up from the local carpark to the warm greetings at all times at the property. Lounges, public areas and rooms are stylishly and comfortably decorated by the owner’s interiors business. However they occupy original village buildings so do vary greatly in size and some are located up very steep, narrow stairs which make them unsuitable for some guests. Better arrangement of spaces within smaller bedrooms would improve the experience, for example providing bedside-tables and more surface spaces. Breakfast is a simple affair and is admirably served by one member of staff, which can mean long waits on busy weekend mornings. However many guests choose to eat their morning meal in the surrounding cafes and brasseries so the breakfast room never felt crowded. Indeed, the very central location means easy access to all that beautiful Mougins has to offer.

We had a fantastic stay at Mougins Luxury Retreats. The location is perfect, the rooms and facilities are wonderful, and the staff is EXCELLENT! I highly recommend MLR to anyone who wants a worry free getaway with top notch service! They go above and beyond to ensure that everything is taken care of for you!

CAUTION! I booked a 3 bedroom suite for 10 days in July via an agency (Mr & Mrs Smith in the UK) at a cost of almost E9,000. 12 days before the check-in date I had to cancel due to a health emergency with an elderly member of my party. The agency said they'd help re-let the room and the hotel agreed to refund the deposit pro rata depending on the number of nights re-let. A few days later I saw online that Mr & Mrs Smith had indeed relet the room and so I looked forward to receiving my refund. The agency contacted me to ask for my credit card details for the refund of the deposit (E4,500), BUT rather than making a refund the hotel tried to run through ANOTHER E4,500. Fortunately my bank spotted their fraud and denied payment. I'm still out of pocket E4,500 (the deposit) and am having to sue the agency (Mr & Mrs Smith) to recover it. My reasoning is that if they hadn't falsely claimed the room had been relet I would have been able to use the benefit of the deposit - perhaps by going ahead with the booking, but without the grandmother who'd become ill; so, in reliance on their misrepresentation I suffered a loss. Mr & Mrs Smith for their part claim their misrepresentation was a 'technical glitch' - if you read their many 1-star reviews on Trust Pilot you'll see they use this 'excuse' rather often. So, CAUTION giving this lot (the agency or the hotel) your credit card details, and beware this hotel's un-customer-friendly refund policy which is in stark contrast to the other hotel on the Cotes d'Azur I had to cancel at the same time, who refunded me in full even though we were only 12 days away from checking-in. That good hotel was Alain Ducasse's place in Moustiers btw. All in all a bad taste - and I'd recommend giving this Hotel a miss.

Stylish room and welcoming staff. Lots of space in the suite and luxuious bed. Room was a short walk through the village to the hotel lobby, terrace and pool. Pool was beautiful, plenty of comfortable sunbeds, but few umbrellas for shade (came away redder than the enourous crab scupture in the room). Staff were very frienldy and happy to order taxis and modify restaurant reservations - although definietly use Uber instead of the taxi service which was three times the price! Location is remote so a car hire would be more convenient as Mougins is extremely small with no shops in the village. Hotel is true to the photos and a lovely place to relax for a couple of days.
